  • Nice. Yeah, I never felt the 'Wiimote' or other motion control devices really ever adequately replaced the control you have with a normal handheld controller. I hope the game industry picks up on this too.

  • Another video from this guy that sucks. Is it me or does Neverchris only talk about the negative aspects in a video since he made a new channel? Since 2006, people around the world are posting the same generic stuff on Youtube under every Wii related video. Comments like 'Looks like a PS1 game'. And if you think that's enough, Neverchris comes here to say that motion-control suck and that's already a relic from the past. Is this guy still a gamer or has he joined the WiiSucks Party?

  • @Stefandorf Rants tend to focus a bit more on negative things. With the big splash of the Wii, a lot of games released for the system had motion controls shoehorned in where they shouldn't have been and I'm glad that's going away, where only games that properly utilize them will have them.

  • My take on motion crontrols, wiiu tablet, Move etc is that it can produce some really great core games if good developers make games for it. Take Sin and Punishment 2, one of the best games in this console gen and the way it enhances the rail shooter / lightgun genre by the use of the nunchuck.

If only more devs would think of MC, etc as something like a stering wheel for racers or a joystick for flight sims and not as some gimic to sell to non gamers

  • wtf is with the static in the background starting at 1:16?

  • motion in skyward sword was awesome. I love seeing the noobs play and cry omg it does not work when they are doing it wrong!

  • I wanted to try controller controls. Not motion. Nintendo should've given a choice.

  • @sirmel11 THere was a classic controller, albeit not bundled with the system.

  • "Did your step dad beat you too many times?" Don't joke about that sh*t!

  • Motion Controls are not dead. The random shovel ware titles and mini-game collections associated with motion are. Honestly, with the Wii U, 3ds, Vita, and Kinect, ios, and Android, motion controls are far from dead.

  • There's a big possibility that future zelda titles will use motion controls so I wouldn't say that motion controls are dead.

  • WOW this is biased as hell. Oh yea focus on all the negatives and not show one positive. Oh yea, Motions Controls totally didn't do anything to shooters. Oh yea, Red Steel 2 could have totally been played with dual analog controller. Skyward Swords controls were so clunky, unresponsive, and just overall bad and didn't prove that Motion Controls could be used in Core or Hardcore game.

Yea the only games the Wii had were casual waggle games.

  • @teddybruscie I consider Red Steel 2 heavily overrated and here's the thing, I loved Metroid Prime Trilogy with the motion controls but it doesn't work for extended play. Play 3 or 4+ hours a couple days in a row and your hand will be sore as shit. It's not that there weren't a few quality games that used motion controls, and I mentioned that in the video, it's that they were few and far between.

  • @TheEndlessSOS You must be playing it wrong because I can play 3 or 4 hours and my hand would be perfectly fine. Are you aiming with your wrist in the standard controller position? When it comes to Red Steel 2 we praise the HUGE jump in controls. You gotta remember these controls are new. Nobody knows how to use this stuff. They do now, with skyward sword showing them how, but not even Nintendo knew what they were doing when they were making it. We are close to having Big Core Motion Titles.

  • @TheEndlessSOS i never got sore using wiimote and i play skyward sword and monster hunter.

  • @teddybruscie

    What rant isnt biased?

  • Am I the only one who misses be "the one" in video gaming? You know when they call you a nerd and shit. Thanx to COD you can only be called childish/gay if you play ex: Mario Galaxy. Like they know anything about gaming more than COD/Minecraft and maybe some WoW :/

  • @RobbanFoxer You can always call them bro gamers haha.

  • The funny part is... if I would buy a move it would be for one mature reason...

You can hold the controller away from each other... very comfortable. A thing I missed from the WII.

  • @RobbanFoxer That actually can be kind of nice on the Wii when the controls don't take a hit from not having dual analog control.

  • I actually kind of like motion controls...

  • I'm sure there was a small percentage of people who did actually try out different games and maybe on the incredibly rare chance they actually got into video games as whole, but its doubtful it was the wii alone that did this, prbably a friend or family member who did play games got them in using the wii as a comfortable way to get them in.

  • yeah in a lot of ways the wii was a fad for most non gamers, they play wii sports and occasionally buy a random mini game collection that gets played once or twice and then is completely forgotten about it.
