They could have a room where the animals are petted nicely maybe...Then after the severe hurting maybe they could pet them again, but maybe just pet around where the blood might be...or they could put a tube in there to take away the blood during the severe hurting. Then they could even pet them longer, or maybe pet them even where some of the red blood may be.
Pig farmers care about their pigs and handle them gently and with respect. The farmers live with these animals all day long and get attached to them. It is their family's livelihood to care for them and make sure that they stay healthy. This video is not typical.

whoever posted this clip up is a complete moron who clearly has no background in the hog industry. first of all, by the time farmers take their pigs off their mother they are ready to eat solid feed. picking a pig up by its back leg is less harmful to them at that age then it would be to pick them up with both hands and leave them upright. it is way too hard on their still developing backbone. i can't tolerate ppl like this who make documentaries out of COMPLETE ignorance to modern hog farming.

The only solution I can think of is that that farm should just invest in one of those compressed air powered bolt guns. I have trouble seeing how I'm overweight when I have a 14% BMI. BTW, We are Carnivores, not cannibals, as you are stating here. If I were to eat my mother I would be a Cannibal. Although this factory farm is in a rural Ohio town and I wasn't that shocked to hear not guilty all but once, it still mesmerizes me that the United States legislature has not considered hanging pigs to be torture. In my opinion, shooting the pig is the most human and cheapest way

not really the cheapest way, you have to pay for the rounds of ammo. plus sometimes its not humane b/c the projectile doesnt fully penetrate the some of the pigs extra thick skulls. plus you have the added danger of bullets going straight through the pig and ricocheting and possible harming the farmer, his family, or his employees. safest and most humane way is lethal injection, however its the most costly. hanging really isnt that bad dude.

Some people feel" why care if there meant to be eaten"? I think the world wasn't designed to use living things for our pickings, or anything for that matter. I can tell you that our manufacturing and mass production of natural resources and the living breathing animals; shows in our earth's pour health. No desent human being would slaughter an animal that hasn't lived out it's entire life but even you small farmers don't get how that shit is unethical. Small farmers still slaughter male calves and male chicks. They also only let the animals live 1/4 of their life MAXIMUM. You consider these things decent? I'm living proof that meat is not necessary - so these animals are being treated unfairly, for no necessary reason and that makes it cruel and horrid.
