what kind of settings do you do for these kinds of shots?

@Kryptinite9 - It's shot with an ultra wide angle lens in RAW. As you can see in the video, the color by default is pretty dull. Processed in Adobe Lightroom to bring out contrast and color.

amazing. Just out of curiousity, did you change or add any filters when you shot the still as opposed to the video? For example, it looks nicely polarized...

@Qu1ntum: A polarizer was used for both photo and video. The photo was edited using Adobe Lightroom which is crazy easy to make color corrections with. My video editing skills and color grading skills leave much to be desired, so the video looks a bit bland.

Yeah, it was really just a little puddle that I saw when cruising down the road. Water is definitely rare in that area, so I had to stop and photograph.

Nice!!!!! But look at the difference from the still and the video. Not even NASA video can compare to stills image quality the day a video, or dslr can do video like still images I'll be in heaven. Keep up the good work.

That's because the video isnt shot in a raw format, its straight to a finishing format (similar to the idea of jpeg), where as the pictures i assume were taken in raw for the dynamic range.

the RED camera's out shoot in such a raw format that the dynamic range can be taken advantage of but youre right, we're not totally there yet.

The still was taken during the video capture. Post processed with adobe lightroom.
