Here in Catalunya or in the rest of Spain people take care a lot of themselfs, so old people tend to look much younger than they really are. Also our diet, if you follow it is very healthy. Also in Spain and in the rest of Europe we have universal healthcare so old people go to the doctor as often as they want or need and they take all the medicines, medical checks, they need since we have free healthcare and medicines are free for them and treatments are free for everybody not like in the US.

Wow 10k in 36 minutes. 98 and so handsome, I know genetics help but he look wonderful. My grandmother had black walnut trees. We would sit on a big rock with a hammer as a kid and crack them and eat them. Natures candy. Thanks for sharing.

@SeventiesGirl1961 There are not figs or apples or pears they are "Nísperos" in spanish and Loquats in english. They taste very good and they are a summer fruit so now you can not still pick them. Here in Spain they are very common and popular in our diet, but only in summer.

Wow, Albert looks about 60 or at the most 70 to me...hard to believe he is almost 99!! By the way do the people in Catalonia speak Spanish as the official language and catalan as the unofficial local one??? Liz you not only had to learn spanish but catalan too, seems a lot!!!

@pinkedelweiss Hi I'm catalan and yes we all speak spanish in Catalonia. We learn both languages in the school and in tre streets you hear both languages the same with tv. Catalonia is not the only region of Spain with a language of its own. There are also: Galicia with Galician language, The Basque Country with the Basque Language and also other unofficial languages and dialects. Spain is a very diverse country.
