Trivium is one of the band that gained recognition that really, through their hard work. I've seen them from their first few albums, really amazing stuffs they put up there for their fans.

Wow, I actually just realised that the musical direction that Trivium and Avenged Sevenfold is very similar. The first album was very heavy, screaming and all. The second was a lot of screaming, but also with some clean vocals. The third album featured almost entirely clean vocals with a gritty voice. The fourth album featured a fair amount of heaviness, and the fifth album returned them both to their roots, featuring melodic songs with mixes of screaming and clean vocals.

@thekidgizmo It's not that I have a problem with the heaviness of it; hell, I hate metal for the most part. I only found Trivium looking for heavy music, and liked them. Had I come across some shit band like Protest the Hero instead I would've never even listened to metal. It's just now-a-days I don't find Trivium's music that.. impressive, honestly. I mean it's good, it's just not "holy cow why don't I own this album 3 times over" good. Also, I hate Meshuggah. Trash. Just like BTTB&M, PTH, etc.

It shows that they can solo with the best of them, take a very simple rhythm and base an entire song off of it, give a very good melodic vocal that will give Corey Taylor a run for his money, and have a great voice for ripping your larynx out. These guys are song writers no matter what anyone says, and as a fellow musician, I salute them.
