I love love love Jewel! But she sounds a bit off here no? Like maybe she had a cold or something.
I read somewhere that a while back she had like strep or bronchitis or something and her doctor told her to stop singing till she got better or she'd do irreperable damage to her vocal chords but she refused 'cause she didn't want to cancel shows.
okay i think this is going to be my weirdest comment yet. okay lol. i LIKE her without the guitar. i find that VERY annoying when she does acoustic covers of her own songs. HOWEVER i think she doesn't know how to act without the guitar. its odd for her to just stand there and sing which comes across as if she's withdrawing from heroin and doing sexual dances to a song that kind of became 9-11's theme song. very odd but i like it? lol
I think she's just doing her thing and that's cool... however... she looks so hot right there... wow... alright now ive calmed... no... wait... did you see how hot she looked?
she doesn't do acoustic covers of her own song!! she originally writes them acoustic. and the original versions are always better than the studio version... but yes, she didn't know how to act without a guitar back then..
by acoustic i meant not the way it sounds on the radio. by acoustic i meant guitars and other instruments. when you hear this on the radio it sounds different and i like the radio version better. thats all i meant by that
i understood very well what you said. and i think the original versions (which means the ones she plays in shows.. by herself with only the guitar) sounds better than the ones recorded in studio.. that play on the radio.
Yes Jewel my hands may be small, they are not yours, they are my own. But we all can use our hands to do something good in this world. Start with ourselves then use our hands to help others. Thanks Jewel and thanks for the post. One of the most prolific songs of all time.
@emailgirl802 Lol! Jewel grew up in the 70s/80s. Madonna and other gyrating artists down to Elvis were all big in her home town in those days. Might still be.
haha her makeup here looks like that of Fiona Apple
Is this Letterman show?

very weird performance for such a somber, yet uplifting, song. Jewel, what''s up?

I agree, very peculiar

Sometimes her movements make me think she is high when singing, yet her voice is really nice, though also breaks at times. Still wonderful song :)

She does!

She sounds kind of weird when she's around 2:20. Like she starts losing her voice and going lower.

Great performance, but her dancing is kind of disturbing, still she's AWESOME!
