  • omg dats shit is so wrong thats not how u braid hair thats why it looks fukk up!!!!

  • we had to do that hair style for colorguard one year but instead of braids we did twists and put the access up in a ponytail and then teased out the ponytail so it was all crazy looking :D i loved doing it that i still did it after the season was over.

  • DUDE U R FREAKN AWESOME.. LOL I ALWAYS TRYN MAKN FRENCH BRAIDS N THIS A NEW LIL TRICK IMA TRY IT OUT

  • Reallyy cute but it's too hard for me haha.

  • its hard =[ but i'll try it Thanx

  • my hairline looks exactly like yours! :)

  • were you talking about small elastics

  • can this style and the pompadour work with short hair that is above the shoulder?

  • how do u keep your hair nice and not oily if you dont wash them ?

  • your username made me hungry!! lol In any case, your scalp gets used to it after awhile and it doesn't get as oily as it would if you wash everyday and then go one day without. It's like training it. Also, the oils, when produced, are actually really good for your hair. And if you're wearing your hair up, the oils wont affect the style. :)

  • rat tail comb :)

  • Thank you for explaining the french braid in detail, bc I didn't know how to do it, but I think I'll try it now! :)

  • how often do you wash your hair?

  • It depends if I've just dyed it or not. Freshly dyed, I go at least 2 weeks, 3 if I can still manage to make it look decent (styled wise). After the (technically) second wash, I go 3-4 days. This way (aside from growth- roots) my color still stays decent for about 2.5-3 months.

  • I am just wondering...considering these braids are pretty close to your scalp, does your head hurt at all or it's not that bad? I know that it is different for everyone but I am wondering if it hurts even a bit. I just love that hairdo!

  • i wanted to origonaly shave the side of my head into steps because i think it looks cool

but was a little afraid of the way it would grow out

so this is a good alternative

i also like the video with the twists

  • Once again, thank you Risa. You're the greatest!!!!

  • love love love this look ... please tell me what blush did you use on your checks in this vid...

    thx

  • I love it!!! I'm doing this hairstyle tomorrow!! :) thanks for posting this

  • sooooooo cute!!!!!

  • Man! you make it look easy. I wish I had half the talent you do. lol Love your videos!

  • so...with all the hair tuts i have...i cant do this nearly as well as u! must be the vixen nails lol

  • Actually, I normally use the end of a fine tooth comb to grab the pieces so it's much more precise but I just wanted to get this up and that method takes longer, but looks prettier ;)

  • ok...so basically u should come 2 my crib and braid my hair cuz i suck at it!

  • Im in complete agreeance

  • lol

  • I know huh

  • ohhh so you never take additional pieces and put them in the center? you only add new pieces to the sides of the braid? interesting! maybe that's why i always have huge fails when i try to french braid hahaha. thanks risa :]

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I am going to do it this weekend when I go out! Woohoo! You are the best Risa! :)

  • I don't know how to make cornrows): please make a tutorial on that!

  • Risa! Quick question. What is the difference exactly between french braids and cornrows? How is the opposite? Is it something to do with a reverse of the braid? Thanks!!

  • I realize this is confusing...so I'll do a video tomorrow explaining :)

  • Fantastic! Thank you. Keep the videos coming, love them! :)

  • Love it!!!

  • cornrows and French braids are the same thing

  • No, they're not. With french braids the pieces go under one another. With corn rows they go over one another.

  • no they are considered the same, they are just called over hand, or under hand depending on the position of the hair, same technique, different directions

  • I never knew that! Everyone I know considers french braids to be hair going under, and cornrows to go over - though what you're saying makes sense.

  • yeah, I see what you are saying, thats why there is youtube.. so we can all learn from one another! Thanks for the flat twist video by the way, good stuff!

  • My friends always ask me to do the braiding to their hair cause they don't know how to frenchbraid.

  • Hi Risa :-)

  • YOU ROCK! thanks so much for this!! xD

  • btw ..luv the hair tut.

  • i luv to do french braids..im the same as you ..i also have thin hair..sometimes i struggle ..to curl it..how about yourself?

  • My hair never used to hold curls unless I hairsprayed my hair and THEN put a curling iron to it, while wet with hairspray. Yes, I can see hairstylists cringing now! lol But I was younger and didn't know any better. My hair did change a bit when it grew back after chemo and all I had to do was scrunch the bottom while wet and it would be a bit curly or wavy. Now, I really cant say because it's been awhile since I've even attempted to curl it.

  • Yes me too..its been forever that i havent curled it..cause im never satisfied..ive been wanting those nice bouncy curls..but i dont like to put a lot of products on my hair..due to the fact its thin..i dont want it thinner. You went through chemo..oh i didnt know..what did you go through? (if i may ask) my friend survived brest cancer ..and i promised to get a tattoo..its a pink ribbon on my right hand. ..im heading out..but i luv ur videos..have a wonderful day .

  • left the "a" out of breast oops.

  • I like how french braids looks but I'm not very good doing them, I need more practise :S

  • thanks!!

  • i was one who requested sothis made me feel special lol
