before this, i thought dat telekung is a must. but, furthering study in klntan opens my eyes dat telekung isnt a necessity to perform solat. i see a lot of people just pray with the cloth they wear. only that, we hv to ensure dat the cloth we wear on really cover the aurat.

Many ppl get the misconception that religious ideas causes oppression and all the atrocities on women, actually the culprit is private property system which created a privileged few(predominatly human of XY chromosomes), resulting in the need of confirming paternity of children for the qn of inheritence and need for family as a mean to produce obedient workforce. Nothing to do with religion and spirituality. Islam by itself and peaceful just like other religions.

Alia has presented a very mature view of Islam in Malaysia, her demeanour is authentic and natural, she means what she says. Islam is not all about terrorism! Far from it. It is all about peace. Sadly there are the few who would spoil that for the many. I myself am not a Muslim but my wife is. We are very happy together and living proof that different beleifs can live very happily side by side.
Life is about us as people, not about how we worship our own God in our own way, that is personal.

Saya keluar Islam setelah saya memperlajari ilmu lain dan mendapati Islam bercanggah dengan hari naluri saya dan Sains. Tidak ada apa di dunia ini yang tidak boleh dijelaskan secara tersendiri. If she decided not to cover her hair or arms, would she e recieved in the same manner in Malaysia? What if she coverted to Hinduism or Christianity, would she be afforded the same rights and treatment? I would wager no.
She would be ostracized and possibly branded an heretic while losing her special rights as part of the Bumiputera. This is not only a Islamic problem of close-mindedness but one of religion as a whole. Religion preaches love but practices hypocrisy. It should not be praised.

Many ppl get the misconception that religious ideas causes oppression and all the atrocities on women, actually the culprit is private property system which created a privileged few(predominatly human of XY chromosomes), resulting in the need of confirming paternity of children for the qn of inheritence and need for family as a mean to produce obedient workforce. Nothing to do with religion and spirituality. Islam by itself and peaceful just like other religions.

@bab3iiblush I don't know who was wrong but we Malaysian recite as Middeen. I believe we are right and .... you are different, not necessarily wrong. Perhaps Allah will accept both ways because it depends on teachers who taught us. If you want to listen the best, try listening to the Imam of Masjidil Haram recite Al-Fatihah.

Alia has presented a very mature view of Islam in Malaysia, her demeanour is authentic and natural, she means what she says. Islam is not all about terrorism! Far from it. It is all about peace. Sadly there are the few who would spoil that for the many. I myself am not a Muslim but my wife is. We are very happy together and living proof that different beleifs can live very happily side by side.
Life is about us as people, not about how we worship our own God in our own way, that is personal.
