  • has anyone ever asked ed boon about this ? and why they decided to make this

  • tu me podrias vender una pcb de mortal kombat turbo ninja, soy de mexico; do you have a sold a pcb mortal kombat turbo ninja? im from mexico sorry for my english i dont speak well

  • This was an official release? Seriously?

  • I don't think that's a security chip so much as just a standard quartz crystal (it should have a number on it listing the frequency that it generates).

Also, where is your information regarding this being an official release? It sure doesn't seem like one, what with the whole "SUPREME WARIOR'S MORTAL KOMBO KOMBAT" screen, very unprofessional.

  • Is this the one with the version of SubZero that has a fireball that makes the opponent float up? I remember playing that at a Gatti's a long time ago. Very cool, always wanted to find it again.

  • Not sure if anyone already said this, but I just wanted to let you know that when you click the link in the description, it says the account has been suspended.

  • Once again fascinating.

  • Looks like it made it into .133u4 :)

  • PLEASE work with the MAME guys to get this mame'd, I want this so bad. I wasted my High School years playing this version of MK and it would bring back a lot of memories. :)

  • Well, I HAVE successfully dumped the roms via hobbyroms(.)com, but there is no way to dump the speed up crystal or the GAL security chip that are on the extra little pcb you see in the video. Installing the Kombo roms will do nothing without those items in the circuit also.

  • Thanks for at least trying, there are some of us that REALLY want this. Hopefully they can "crack" or emulate the security chip. Those chips are some 15+ year old technology, can't be THAT hard for a hacker today to bypass. Hopefully it makes it to the right person and they can get it working. I am building my first Mame cabinet, would love to have this. Or hell I'd be happy with a MK jamma board like you have, but as you know they're hard to come by.

  • (boring rambling continued)

The arcade cabinets I played both had this little red placard w/black text & dragon logo under the screen identifying them as the 'Turbo' version...I'm pretty sure one of the machines also had some 'Turbo' stickers on the marquee and a plastic sign on the top of the machine.

I always thought these hacks were bootlegs though...I had no idea they were from Midway. :O

...anyway, thanks for posting these vids :)

  • Actually, I don't believe this is an official Midway release. I'm going to discuss this with YMM via PM to better determine it's status.

  • Niiiice!

Haven't really looked up info on this in a while, and found these vids.

I've played this machine in 2 different places in AZ in 1995 & 1996...one was at a mall arcade, and the other was at...an Italian restaurant/sub shop take-out place in a strip mall :D

  • how much is this supposted to be worth

  • Siiick!

  • How much did this cost you?

  • $167

  • But this PCB is hard to get it!!?

  • I've been looking for this for a while Nice Score !

  • if you EVER sell this ill take it lol

  • lol, looks like you can infinite off of an uppercut with Scorpion

  • Can't wait to see...

  • Holy crap. There is nothing but awesome in this

Question, I noticed the Uppercut seems to cancel out sooner. Does this mean you can combo OUT OF a uppercut?

  • Possibly.

  • Try it out. Notice how about halfway through Sonya's flight from the uppercut, Scorpion goes back into his idle, I think meaning you can jump and hit em.
