I mean, unlike the slavic languages in which there are amazing similitudes, spanish and the rest of the latin languages have several differences. Spanish is the most spoken tongue of all and even there are different types of spanish, being the argentinan version the most dramatic. It's interesting to see how you could understand several words amost slavic languages, which doesn't happen with us.

@kristinakristina01 I do! And I looove russian language, And I am soo jelous because I can't learn it, would love to speak it. I speak bulgarian because I learned in a trip i did to the balkans. I know is a slavic country and the language is similar to russian, but definitely not the same. Bulgarian is a phonetic language and I can tell russian is not. Plus the cyrillic alphabet has also differences and I can tell that most of what I have learned from the bulgarian alphabet doesn't aply much.

@khaenos First, glad you love the Russian :))) However, Russian is not a tonal language, it IS phonetic. Russians 'chew' the consonants more and have more nasal vowels. But, Bulgarian is, how to say, flatter? Russians find Bulgarian is a harsher-sounding language. As for Cyrillic, yes, Bulgarians use it differently, e.g. the tverdi znak -- a silent, consonant-hardening modifier in Russian, is a vowel in Bulgarian like Romanian 'tilded-a', Bul. shte = shch in Rus.; BUT, most DOES apply much ;)))

@KGBchnik Thanks for your comments. I was thinking that is not a phonetic language because I found out that "E" sounds like a "YE" and "O" like a soft "A". So those were my points. Some of the characters of the cyrillic alphabet are missing in the bulgarian version like the "bl" which i'm not sure of the exact sound and some change a little. But forgetting about the writing the language alone sounds beautiful. Mine is spanish and all of the latin languages have remarked differences.
