Not really. VW and Audi are kings with their W12 TDI engine, which produces more than 1000 Nm of torque under 1500 rpm. The VW Touareg with that engine can literally pull a Boeing 747. (Watch the Fifth gear video where they've done it)

I own the Audi Q7 3.0 Tdi S-Line and I am very happy with it. First time I bought an Audi (prev owned Merc, BMW, VW) and I think I will now buy an Audi for my wife too.

The 4.2V8 in that thing is a beast. What suprised me most was how well they  handle for such a big suv. Even the 3.6 has good power.

I have seen Q7 V8 4.2 TDI Around and truly those cars are looking the best out of all SUV, presence, performance, style, design, power and much more. Now that there is Q7 V12 TDI What a dream come true seriously, wow great great for sure the best SUV out there.

it depends... so if u drive a 6cyl diesel or a V8 diesel u wont notice anything. Its just the 4cyl diesels that (often) sound like shit :)

As for sound, you've probably never driven a proper V6 or V8 gas car. You don't have such ones in Europe, having tiny weenies diesels instead. Drive one. You'll HEAR the difference

i guess this is a joke cause here in germany there are plenty of v6 and v8 cars.. moreover, you've probably never heard a modern diesel engine by e. g. bmw.. they sound like a turbine and they produce very high torque. it's just those little 4cylinder diesels that sound like a mower

okay, i admit, the Q7 in this vid really isnt that good.. and when we talk about mileage, audi in general isnt as efficient as bmw

the highlander is a compact suv, you cannot compare it to a fullsize Q7. Maybe a Tahoe, Expedition, Range Rover, or Land Cruiser.

This is a very appealing car if I was in the market for luxury SUVs. It looks great, comes with Audi's fit and finish and good reliablilty, great torque, and gread fuel economy! Just hope our gasoline to diesel ratio meets that of the rest of the world soon.
