i met ashcroft last week. he's a nice guy. he signed my gibson jumbo. i went to his gig the next day. he uses epiphone acoustics live, and the strings kept snapping. this live version is incredible.

@Buckets321 i forgot to get a photo though. he was running late for his recording session, so he was in a hurry. i had my camera in my pocket ready to go, and just completely forgot. i was too much in shock, i froze. and the signature on my guitar was done with a shitty old marker that was running out. o well. at least I met him. My teacher says that the drummer for his new band laid down a track in one take. he put his sticks down and walked away, because he knew himself it was a perfect take.

The only comparison between the two bands should be the go of the lead singers. No band in th world could've touched Verve at their peak. They were unstoppable. Then, they fuckin blew it. BIG TIME. Listening to the guitar in this song is what Verve were about. McCabe was the driving force. They could've been the best, but they weren't.

The Verve are my favourite band...Nirvana push them close for me but 'Mad Richard' edges it for me...love everything about them...love their 10 min records, loved their more pop stuff (Urban Hyms). Nobody 'sings' better than Rich Live i reckon. Always sounds perfect.

His face always seems so etched with pain and I'm scared that what escapes from his mind through his music in a such beautiful way is only a fraction of what he endures.
