@sniebow On PC, there was a mod for Half Life 2 that let you be a soldier from the revolutionary war. Was alright, and it was intresting how people would do line battles, but in the end, it just wouldn't work out on Console. Suck though.

If you enjoy the total war series do you not agree that a new game should come out that is set in the future where instead of regions they had solar systems, space fleets instead of naval fleets they could create new units in battle that are as epic as they want. it would be a huge step forward for the series if they bring the same amount of quality to it. @clonegreivou Your suggesting that every army that uses guerrilla tactics is a terrorist group? That's ridiculous. For centuries military engagements (in Europe as well) have been won or lost using stealth/guerrilla tactics. It's a part of war.

Terrorists use geurrilla tactics because they can't handle the calibur of an organized army. Many key battles in the American revolution were won with superior strategy' not stealth and deception (though it did play a big role as well).

I think the style of fighting they participated in was due to the evolution of combat and warfare up to that point. In the middle ages archers would fire at the enemy in large formations, when guns came about the rules of a battle hardly changed. Also having men in such formation would have made giving orders much easier as no way of modern communications existed, it was better for a general to see where his men were and be able to easily give orders to them.

It might work alright for you, but it certainly didn't for me. Just google "empire total war steam problem" you get a lot of results.
