All these experts on here slagging the machine off but if they had an ounce of experience between them they'd realise the machines potential. These lads arent in it to fill up some redneck log burner, they are in it to produce large quantities of cut firewood from various different sizes of material. I'd like to see another piece of film with this machine in full flow with 1 or 2 experienced operators.
this is a Euro style of splitter. they drop a tree, saw it into 4-6 foot lengths, transport it, split it THEN cut it to firewood size.
Here we drop the tree then cut it up OR transport it whole to be processed later.
I operated a swing saw with a 54" blade, My job was to cut and sort by length and diameter for a log cabin maker and whatever was not to spec got turned into firewood.
Too bad their personel dept. sucked or I'd still be there :P
My splitters are slow, both the one I built and the one I bought. With four or five helpers, betcha both of them would be a lot faster. Geez! My axe would be faster with five guys on it, but then I wouldn't get to burn fossil. On the other side, you've provided work for several factory workers, executives, salesmen, shippers, etc., by buying one so big and powerful. Thanks for letting us see it working.
we didn't buy this version we bought the larger one in the other video and try 9000 GBP + 20,000 for the processor, your 199 saw couldnt take a bar to cut these logs even coming in from both sides with an average of 36" diameter if they are big enough to go on the splitter you need a decent saw. and production is around
6m2 per hour on the processor like to see you match that with your sledge and wedge.we are harvesting, processing and selling around 1000 green tons of firewood per season.
bad wood!

@jacktheripped Euro style? There is only on way Europeens make firewood?? I am so glad I got this useful information!

nope, never said it was the only way splitting is done there, just a different way than is done here, western US, where I'm at.
Plus most of the videos of Euro stuff shows the longer splitter which would lead an American to believe that that is how it's done in Europe :)

I borrowed a LaFont log splitter yesterday...It has a twin cylinder gas engine and the blade was very similar to this one...
The machine was ear deafening because the two mufflers on top of it were there for looks...
In all I cut two cords of wood pretty quick once the machine stayed running...
I use to split with an axe but I am going to invest in a gas log splitter for home use...I plan on splitting 6 cords a season...
Anyone have a suggestion for brand and ton power?

Why are the logs so long ?
armoparty 4 years ago
they go through a processor to be cut to length and split again
shokidq 4 years ago
Why? Why not do it at once? This is an old fashioned way, from times ,when logistics were much more diffycult than nowadays!?!
