First two albums are New Wave masterpieces. Unfortunately & fortunately, I didn't discover their other stuff until a year ago. For many years all I heard and saw on TV (one of my early MTV memories) was Safety Dance. Which, to me, isn't their best and it's over played.
O come on already this is definitely not one of their better hits at all, give me a break--this one is like ---Chopping Broccoli--I'm chopping brocccoleeeeeeeee--
Come on now I could have created this one in like Jr. High in the 80's --Ok lets think of a cool mesmerizing hit to remember Antarctica and the deep cold zone of ice there. Come on give me a break on this one!!! LOL--3 people out of a hundred dont like it either!!
Another awesome album from 83, the entire thing. Yeah Safety Dance was too overplayed, but this song stuck in my head more which is not such a bad thing. Other excellent albums from that period, are Construction Time Again by Depeche Mode, Modern Romans by the Call, Underneath the Colours by INXS, and Dare by the Human League, to name a few from that new wave genre.
@seekingnewhorizons There's lots of 80's retro stuff on the Internet. Men Without Hats is known for "Safety Dance" but that's overplayed. Try songs like 'Where Do the Boys Go", "I Like", "Living in China" and "O Sole Mio". The POP GOES THE WORLD album in '87 was like bubblegum rock but one song that was good in that was "O Sole Mio".
I was in my mid-thirties when I heard this song. Didn't have much time or opportunity to listen to music like this back then. Such just wasn't easily available in Knoxville at the time. Heard it only once but I found it mesmerizing. Forgot all about it till coming across it just now.
The lyrics are a really big question mark. I'm sure in a lot of people will agree. As long as Men Without Hats knows what the heck they're singing about.....Regardless, this is one of the best keyboard tracks from the 80's !!!....This was a favorite from the first time I heard it, after getting this LP as a gift.

Not being a grammar nazi now, but if you change the name to the correct one you may make it easier for people to find this song. Just saying :3

The Lyrics are expressing a relationship where she went cold on him and he's getting revenge.

Bit of a shame that most people have only heard "Safety Dance", when they were such a brillinat band.

Check out the live version of this available on You Tube - despite a few keyboard flubs, it's way better than this.
