Make alcohol illegal? It seems that Rep Walsh has forgotton an entire era of American History known as Prohibition, where the use and abuse of alcohol reached its highest ever in in this country. The entire concept of Prohibition  is flawed in every way shape or form. Why continously waste tax payer dollars on a drug war that cannot be won and divert those funds to lock up the violent criminals of this country.

How about if a person under the influence ends up killing another person, they will be put to death with no excuses? A person putting themselves under the influence of any drugs are literally signing a release stating they are responsible for everything they do.

Actually few people smoke weed 'to make pain go away' as their prime motivation & it's usually done for enjoyment, but let's say you were shot or something & in the hospital in horrible pain & the doctors offered you a drug of some sort that they felt was safe in order to treat your pain. You would turn it down? Would that make you stronger or foolish? Am I 'weak' for taking tylenol if I have a headache once in a while?

No but what if you had pain every day and tylenol used more than a few days goes after your liver? I always enjoyed cannabis and still do. But it's saved my liver and cured many headaches where as if I used tylenol that much? I'd have liver issues. It's a life saver for my daily back pain. Allows me to live, earn, love life, manage the pain.

Currently in most states, charging a person with degrees of murder is pretty standard. Murder 1, intentionally killing gets the worst punishment. I think that works. Somebody that gets into a fistfight and kills somebody, sober or drunk usually gets manslaughter if they just were using their fists and it was not repeated blows- not trying to kill somebody or driving accidents, etc. Manslaughter...

If you are sober and driving 70 in a 25 and kill somebody, you do 2 years. While another smokes a joint two days ago and runs over a kid who runs out front of my car while they are driving the speed limit and really not at fault, that person should be executed?

@RobertRant That's only a small part. The main obsticle is that the CIA's black budget comes primarily from smuggling illegal drugs, including pot. As long as the CIA is getting billions of dollars that congress doesn't have to approve or even know about, then it will never be made fully legal.

What it boils down to is this. If "pot" was legal, people could grow it in their gardens and then the "big shots" wouldn't be able to make money off of it. They can't have that now, can they? Booze is legal, but although some people make their own beer or wine, how many people do you know attempt to make bourbon or rum? It's only the fact that they haven't figured out a way to make a profit from marijuana that they keep it illegal.
