the give away for me was 1475... the way he wrote the 7 was identical to the one on the card, not to mention his video of him self interupted a couple times so you could tell it was a recording.
5:48-5:49 you see him remove the plastic, it only covers the top of the box I still dont know how he swapped out the 7 of Daimonds for Penns card. I saw him slide the card into the box but not remove one.
@TheCinemaJudge That's the obvious part. Penn and Teller caught that. The tough thing (that I have yet to figure out) is how he got that signed card flipped over in the new deck and put the wrapping and stick on it
I think I saw the deck switch when he reached for the pen. The joker was on the top covering it. However, I don't know how the hell he got the card in there.
Penn did his own trick secretly look at the splayed cards at 27:50 on the table and then they are gone three seconds later. Freaked me out the first time i saw it probably just edited footage
I love the trick Teller did. I'm sure P&T did it first, but I saw a comedian/magician do the same trick with razor blades. I'm not sure which is harder; teller had more pins, but the razors are much wider.
ok that gary 'martinez' didnt do the trick pretty good, because when he puts the coaster against his head you can see that it is thicker than the others and that he actually puts a staple into it
@DNAmaze dude did you even watch the whole thing? they busted him, explained the whole trick, and he told them they were right. and that's not what happened.
just one interesting thing. im not sure if there is no clear inventor of the trick teller does at the end, but i know who did it first. "The Amazing Johnathon". i cant seem to find the original on youtube, but he had a comedy central special, where at the end he performed this trick, except with razor blades... also in s01e01 the paper bag trick the guy did, they perfomed the same thing on their new show "Penn and Teller tell a lie" using the same follow-up speech afterwards
@Rhuarc224 im just wondering if someone here can clarify these tricks are too old to have original performers? i like penn and teller and i dont want to believe they are stealing tricks...
@Rhuarc224 Everything, whether it has been in arts, music or magic has been done before in some way. Interpretations may be unique or different, but trust me, its all been done before.
Even more intriguing, for me, is not how he got the card in the box. It's how on Earth did he put in the right position AND took the 7 of diamonds out.
On the episode of Penn Radio broadcast on November 29, 2006, Jillette related the real story behind his red fingernail. It began as a joke with his mother. When he was 18 years old, his mother advised him to keep his hands looking nice, since he then was working as a magician and his audience would be looking at his hands. Jillette colored the single nail red and showed it to his mother. He has continued to paint that single nail to the present. The color he uses is Jelly Apple Red (#054)
Its a long story with his mom involved. When he started magic, his mom used to tell him to keep his hands clean, since people would watch closely at his hands. He joked why not even polish his fingernails. So he did once, his mom laughed. In memory of his mom and this, Penn paints one finger red ever since.
ok watching this a 2nd time, i got 1 part of the trick. i don't know how he 'pretended' to swallow the needles, but i do know that when he was holding the white threads, he palmed the pre-stringed needles and shoved it into his mouth along with the white threads. then with some tongue action, shoved the bunched up threads to the side, while holding onto the needles with his tongue and masterfully keeping a straight face. then pretend to regurgitate and slowly pull out the needles.
lol the magician picked up 2 coasters... just in case something goes wrong, he doesn't get hurt. also when he did the trick on his hand, face, throat, he angled the staple gun so the gun wasn't flush against his skin, even with a little distance between the mouth of the gun and the skin, the flying staple wouldn't do a lot of damage. xD good backup plan.
@demonson161 It was a joke with his mother, she said it would help distract people, but it's more of a joke than anything else, thats why he still does it :D
@demonson161 When Penn first began performing, his mother told him to get a manicure because people would be looking at his hands. In response to this, he had all of his nails painted red as a joke. The one remaining red fingernail is in honor of his mother.
@demonson161 Actually no. It IS a tribute to his mother. It's said right in the FAQ of their site.
When Penn first got into performing, his mother said he should get a manicure and take care of his hands, since people would be looking at them more than anything. He painted all of his nails red as a joke, and since his mother died he keeps the single nail painted. He also wears his father's ring on the same finger.
Thanks for uploading these!!! I love Penn and Teller no matter what they are doing. Keep it up (as long as you don't get in trouble and get them taken down.
Oh and about the 4 subs, it's the internet, subs mean nothing. As long as you have someone watching and being entertained, I wouldn't worry about it!
@ASCIISyaezTV You'll get more subscribers after a while, when more people start searching for episodes of Fool Us (just like when people search for episodes of BS).
@ASCIISyaezTV I think that because you've not uploaded videos in a while, people didn't even know they were subscribed to you. Now that you've uploaded more, and people see your channel (that they've subscribed to), people may not have the same interest in Penn&Teller, so they'll unsubscribe. Thank you for the upload!
