  • Those boys must be turning in their graves now, to see what our great country has turned into. They gave their lives for what. So we could turn into the worlds soft touches. We will never be as good as those people, WW1, WW2,They gave us a legacy, and we have squandard it.Shame on us.GOD BLESS, THE GLORIOUS DEAD.

  • Thank you Holiday1patriot for posting this video. A simple yet brilliant combination of uplifting music from one of Britain's greatest composers, and inspiring words from Britain's greatest statesman.

And I agree with the post by Dunhill2011.

  • "They shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning-hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. [Isaiah 2:4]"

  • @fraternihilius Well Isaiah kind of screwed up on that one...How many thousands of years of continual warfare has there been since that was said?

  • This...Is when Britain was Great Britain. Today, it's 'gone to the dog's'.

  • @scragster105 I know what you mean, but come on. Its up to people like me and you and lots of other people. We can make Britain Great again, there will always be a great Britain. She wont lose her way, not as long as people like you and me are around know what I mean

  • @scragster105 We will come back. Maybe slowly, but surely. We will be back.

  • May we never forget those who gave their lives in the cause of freedom, and those who survived to come home safe to their loved ones who made their own sacrifices. May we also never forget that at the end of the day, we are all human, we all bleed the same red blood, and we all wish for the same things for ourselves and our loved ones. May we also never forget that we live on an earth of finite resources and that it is our duty to be good stewards of our environment so that all may have enough.

  • utterly sublime

  • wish churchill was still in charge ,a legend,a one off.never to be replaced .a man for our country ,not 1 of these so called politicians nowadays that line there own pockets,he would turn in his grave looking at this lot today

  • Let us remember the soldiers of all nations, those who we fought and those who stood by our side as brothers in arms. For a soldiers life is a life, laid down for the country they serve and regardless of the flag which they fight for, their loved ones feel the same sorrow. Dear God, let there be peace in the world and may we all learn from the past.

  • @TheDunhill2011 UNTILL one has given all one has given nothing GEORGE GUYNEMER died sept 1917

  • @TheDunhill2011 brilliant, thank you for this good thought

  • What a man Sir Winston was. A true British hero. Such a tragedy our current British politicans dont share his patriotism in our country!!

  • what a great piece of music and an even greater man,Sir winston, saviour of mankind

  • Long live Britannia!!

  • Churchill was son of a New York Banker's family (mother Jenny Jerome).

Bankers love war, because they think its the best investment. War-waging Governments need to take billions of loans, which gives the banks the power to drag whole nations into a spirale of debt.

Britain is deeper in Debt every day, it is impossible to reverse a spirale of debt. The end will be state bankrupcy and people losing all their savings again.

The bigger Britain's debt, the more profit for the Bankers.

  • @Elberiver11 your rambling, wipe the foam from your mouth and settle down.

  • @Elberiver11 One of the worst attacks had occurred on the night of November 14/15 against Coventry, an industrial city east of Birmingham in central England. In that raid, 449 German bombers dropped 1,400 high explosive bombs and 100,000 incendiaries which destroyed 50,000 buildings, killing 568 persons, leaving over 1,000 badly injured. The incendiary devices created fire storms with super-heated gale force winds drawing in torrents of air to fan enormous walls of flames.

  • Its funny how the British worship a warcriminal of all people

    A) who dragged Britain into an uncessary war

    B) made foreign planes bomb Britain back (after Britain started bombing Germany on May 10th 1940)

    C) gambled away the whole British Empire

    D) left Britain bankrupt in 1945

    E) who started the mass-immigration of Muslim aliens to England in the 1950ies

    F) and who was the key-promoter of a European Union.

Its unbelievable, how you Britishers worship the man who betrayed you.

  • @Elberiver11

    A) Churchill was not prime minister when war was declared

    B) Germany started bombing Britain before we began bombing Germany

    C) The Empire was being reformed into the Commonwealth back in 1901

    D) Who elese was going to help Europe, and yes war does cost money

    E) Labour began muslim immigration in the commonwealth act of 1947,

    F) he beieved in european community not union.

  • @Elberiver11

    A) churchill was not Prime minister when war came

    B) Germany actually bombed the uk first.. check the history of the east end.

    C) the empire was being reformed into the commonwealth long before churchill

    D) the cost of freedom is smetimes war, the cost of war is money.

    E) Labour began islamic immigration in 1947 actually not churhills conservatives

    F) churchill believed in a EU community to avoid any other future catastrophic wars.. all in all quite a good man, a wise man.

  • I hear someone critizing the EU. Well, the Germans never wanted the Euro? So how come it was forced upon them? Nobody likes the EU, and here we have the British of all people wailing about it.

The EU is not a German world order, Germany lost the war in 1945. So are you realizing the EU is the work not of the Germans, but of the Angloamerican world order called "democracy"?

The EU is, if you ask me, a fascist state that tried to abolish our national souvereignity. Its a FAKE democracy.

  • Churchill = biggest warcriminal in human history. This man should have been tried and hanged at Nuremberg 1946.

  • I can understand how the British got through the bombing raids and the war with such a charismatic leader and such stirring words. Words that can inspire any person. The music is lovely to.

  • The greatest man to have graced our great shores. If Sir Winston Churchill was to see our country now, then he would turn in his grave. Now look who's running our country...

  • Edward Elgar's Nimrod is perfect for this fine speech! As an American, I never forget that Winston Churchill was the son of an American mother! That makes me proud! ~ Susan

  • @lodengreeneyes Indeed, Jenny Jerome, makes the ties between both Countries even tighter. Its a great honor for us to be linked to this great Man by his Mother.

  • i find it funny that british nazis are talking about britain now. who do you think we were fighting in ww2? ha ha ha

  • britain has not been a big military power sine 1945. get over it

  • @rayner8934, beating Argentina in the 1980's is no small victory considering the distance involved, most of the top armies in the world even today would struggle to launch suck a force as quick as that, plus the British were using many different experimental weapons and vehicles during that war, many of which we sold to the other top nations after they had seen how dominant they were on the battlefield.

America said it would be impossible to re-take the islands..more fool them!..NOOBS

  • This is the very epitome and essence of what was truly a Great, Great Britain and it is with tears that I listen to this Great British sound. May Her Majesty keep Britain and the Commonwealth with this same sense of duty.

  • Elberiver you are the most blinkered of all the people commenting here. Germany offered peace eh? And what should Britain have done, oh thanks very much Germany, please carry on cleansing the Jews and rampaging across the continent we're cool. Read a history book, the first urban bombing was by the Luftwaffe, practiced years before in the basque region with the permission of Spain! Germany had what was coming to them as Britain did with imperialism too and I pray to god we would do it again

  • this man, in a few short sentences can still lift the hearts of a nation and its peoples, this man who's whole political destiny to lead Britain through the struggle against tyranny and oppression can still be a symbol of national unity. he was more than a politician, he was more than a stateman, he was the very apiffany of what great British imperial power truly meant.. god bless him

  • why are you a paki all we need is ONE BIG SHIP with a one way pass

  • look at our country now run by the fuckiung pakis we cant even speak our minds

  • @OUTDOORY Please don't confuse loving our country for racism. It is possible to be a patriot and embrace other races and cultures.

  • I wish we could bomb the Germans and their country to pieces even now. The bastards took the lives of 25 million and more only to stop and shake hands with France. We can never trust them. We need all our Armed Services to be fully maintained and ready at all times.

  • @kabewest I beg your pardon?

  • @kabewest LOL you are not by any chance a bit of a whacko , are you?

Notice, it was you who betrayed the Germans in Versailles 1919, and it was also you who started two wars on them. The Germans never started any war on England in all of human history. Both wars between Britain and Germany were started by the British Empire. Go and read history, mate! And do not talk such nonsense in public, people will laugh at you.

  • @kabewest A ridiculously innane comment. The vast majority of Germans alive today, were born post WW2 you buffoon. So we should hold them directly responsible for the misdeeds of their grandparents?! That is as banal as blaming British people today for the slavery of 200 years ago. Just how stupid & immature are you? The Germans have never been our natural enemy, historically it has always been France. Perhaps it has escaped your attention, but Germany is a NATO ally and has been for over 60 yrs

  • Tears to the eyes...I find it so crushingly heartbreaking that what it is to be British, what it is that makes these sections from Churchill's speeches so spine-tinglingly relevant has been lost forever. There are few things I wish for more than to see this sort of spirit and pride instilled in every citizen of Britain, regardless of race, colour, creed or religion...if we all found this piece as emotional as I do, we'd be in a damned sight better position than we find ourselves today.

  • If Winston was here now !!

  • @tommo4224 Then you'd have even more Paki's and wogs in your country, and you'd be much closer to bankrupcy than you already are, you fools.

Remember, the world order we live in today is the world order of those who won the war - and that is Britain and America. Are you sure all this crime, decay, debt and mass-immigration is what you were fighting for? Wake up, you British people, from your slumber!

  • Such a stirring piece. I literally have goosebumps listening to this. Fantastic, poignant and sincere video too. I am extremely proud to be English and this fills me with an intense passion for what we once were and will become again. Neither of my parents are English but both of them insisted on raising us in a way that we were to understand, appreciate and be thankful for the home they created for us in the greatest country in the world. That is the way forward for us. Rule Britannia.

  • Sends shivers down the spine

  • Sends shivers up the spine

  • These words, spoken by a President of the USA roughly half a century ago, would be of great help to Britons if they were adopted into their current ethos, "... ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.". Time was when such a concept, nowadays seemingly foreign, was very British. Stewardship, self-reliance, and aspiration were the civic principles that galvanized Britain to succeed. And they built an empire. And sired many civilized English-speaking nations.

  • Winston Churchill. KG. The greatest man ever to live.

  • At least one "Kraut" says: A historic speech, with goosebumps factor!

  • @RichBanks2010 Meanwhile back in reality.........You delude yourself if you believe the 'Great' will ever return to Britain. We are finished, our industrial base is far too small, we were reknowned for our engineering skills & manufacturing. Where is it today. We do not manufacture & export nearly enough produce to put us back on the map. Our economy is based largely on consumer spending- increasingly on Chinese imported goods. WW1 & WW2 finished us off as a powerful nation. ENDEX.

  • @LIVERPOOLSCOTTISH The bedrock nature of Britons, their current economic circumstances notwithstanding, remains intact. Britain is a blessed nation: its wealth is its people, a race singularly possessed of genius, entrepreneurial vision, and courage. It's a little island nation whose history is the envy of the world. Adam Smith prescribed all Britain needs to know to unleash the British lion's roar: unfettered capitalism. It built Britain's prosperity & might. Britain must rediscover his wisdom.

  • @viriatoist Fine words indeed.........However, as I stated earlier, "Meanwhile back in reality......" We have become a laughing stock compared to our past frankly, our once formidable manufacturing base is virtually non-existant, we are over reliant on the city of London. Our education system, once reknown, is churning out a generation of zombies for the most part, obsessed with the concepts of 'fame' & 'celebrity,' soaps & reality TV have replaced theatre & reading. UK= over crowded rats nest.

  • @LIVERPOOLSCOTTISH Right now, manufacturing is at its highest since the early 1990s. The devalued Pound is making British exports extremely attractive. I know many European businesses that are using UK circuit printing/build companies as an alternative to Eastern European because of the quality and price. The Conservatives have slashed taxes on research and development positions.

  • @amazingrapist I would feel much more positive about your statement if it referred to manufacturing output in the 1950's/60's. By 1990, we were pretty much washed up as a manufacturing nation, certainly compared to other nations. Immense damage occurred in the 1970's, especially in heavy manufacturing- we effectively saw BRITISH owned car manufacturing companies implode. These days, Rolls Royce is German owned,Jag is Indian, and we build cars for the Japanese-an extremely sad state of affairs

  • @LIVERPOOLSCOTTISH We can't compete with nations like China, they don't have the same minimum wage or even Employment Rights like we do. Our work force is too educated for people to stand on a production line all day, pulling the same lever to make a whippet flange. We just can't compete in low tech piece work, it's the downside of social progress. We now make things like nuclear powered submarines, jet engines and high end computer games.

  • @amazingrapist You miss the salient point. The very fact that we cannot compete in the area of low skilled labour, is a major issue with regard to employing our own uneducated legions of benefit scroungers. We have a sizable body of people in the UK for whom we can find few, if any jobs. Our problem is that we have become too reliant on specialised, low volume manufacturing, and we simply do not manufacturer nearly enough on a large scale. We have NO British car industry-look at Germany!

  • @LIVERPOOLSCOTTISH

Germany is in the shit, too, mate. We are all drowning in Debt.

And even if Germany will hang in there a bit longer than Britain, what good is it if Germany keeps on producing cars, when all countries around her are bankrupt and tell them "sorry you Germans, we 'd love to buy your cars but we god bloody no money"?

I tell you what happens then: then the German factories will stand still and they will be lumbered with thousands of fine cars cause nobody will buy them.

  • @LIVERPOOLSCOTTISH and i know you won't like to hear that, but remember the world order we live in right now is the world order created by Winston Churchill and his American friend Franklin D. Roosevelt.

All the mass-immigration, the destruction of European cuhlture, the decay of morals, the rising crime and the rising unemployment is the result of that. We need a complete change, the financial and political system as it is run now, will destroy us if we won't return from this path.

  • If Churchill really had been pro-English, he would not have lead England into war.

Churchill could have stopped the London Blitz or the whole war any day, by simply accepting one of the countless German peace offers, brought to him by the King of Spain, the Swedish industrial Birger Dahlerus, the President of Finland or by the Pope in the Vatican (All neutral countries, because Churchill would not accept offers brought to him from Germany, so the Germans asked neutral countries to mediate).

  • @Elberiver11 Ridiculous & innane comment. Churchill refused to alow Hitler to dominate mainland Europe. Hitler broke EVERY single 'assurance' he made prior to WW2. Churchill was not just representing Britain, but ALL nations under the Nazi jack boot. Hitler had proven himself to be completely untrustworthy.

  • @LIVERPOOLSCOTTISH You believe in Allied war-propaganda, mate. Wake up, lad, you are in 2011, and stop wallowing in your silly b/w Churchill-Newsreels from the past.

Mainland Europe was not dominated by "Hitler", but by the German nation long time before you strange island-dwellers even knew Hitler existed.

Germany was Nr. 1 Economic power in Europe, while your beloved Hitler was still a male prostitute being on the dole in Meldemannstr. Nr. 22 in Munich, in an asylum for the homeless.

  • Hitler was untrustworthy. Oh, do tell.

I suppose your Empire who betrayed the whole German people by promising "self-determination" were trustworthier.

Your guaranteed Wilson's 14-points. As soon as the Germans signed, Wilson and the British sent Czech tanks into the German sudetenland and opened fire on unarmed demonstrators, including children. Wilson and Lloyd George enslaved 3.5 Millions under Alien rule, and you called it "democracy". Now, that is trustworthy indeed. lol

  • @LIVERPOOLSCOTTISH The reason why you believe your Empire was "innocent" , is because your country simply covers up what they did. So, do not tell me about "breaking assurances", it was you British people who betrayed the whole German nation by violating all rules of democracy, you even forbade democratic elections for millions, and forced them under the tyranny of aliens. Remember it was Britain and America who created the whole mess in Versailles 1919. You need to learn history, mate.

  • You talk about the "Nazi jack boot"., but you seem to have no problem with millions under Polish iron boot, Czech boot, and French boot in Versailles 1919 . If you had not enslaved all these people under alien rule, Hitler would not even be known today.

But you Britishers are experienced in enslaving people. Churchill praised the British slave trade-holocaust as a "great achievement" .

The worst iron boot however was forcing Europe under Communist tyranny. Its funny you dont mention that.

  • Germany was not dominating Europe because of Hitler, it has done so long time before Hitler came to power, and long time after.

Germany's dominating role is a natural result of its geographical position in the centre of Europe, and due to its people's mentality of hard work, inventions, technology and realiability. The British Empire foolishly started two wars on Germany, trying to destroy her. In the wake, the British lost their Empire and Germany remains what she was: Europe's Nr. 1

  • @Elberiver11 Whatever....... I have no intention of entering any discussion with you, having encountered your pro-Nazi propaganda drivel elsewhere on YT.

  • @LIVERPOOLSCOTTISH Excuse me? NAZI PROPAGANDA? hahahaha ! He were go again, anybody telling the British about their atrocities is all of the sudden a NAZI.......good one, mate!

I suppose when your English grandfathers exterminated the Red Indians, the Tasmanians, tortured innocents in British Concentration camps in Kenya and when you put African slaves on British death ships, i reckon your British ancestors were not "Nazis". When the British kill millions, its "doing good", isn't it.

  • @LIVERPOOLSCOTTISH

The only Nazi i see on here is you, You praise a massmurderer like Churchill who betrayed England, who was a racist and who killed millions - a man who claimed to "fight the Nazis"; but behaved like a Nazi himself.

Churchill attacked an undefended city with 1.2 Million people few weeks before the end of war. He turned children and mothers into human torches with his Firestorm. And to mention Churchill's atrocities and genocides, makes me a "Nazi", or what? LOL! Funny!

  • Churchill refused to make peace when he could - the Germans made countless peace offers and offered to stop the Blitz, if Churchill stopped bombing children and women in Germany.

Churchill could have saved England from bombs and could have stopped the Blitz anyday, by simply stopping to blitz Germany. But Churchill kept on bombing, because he wanted war on Germany.

This is common knowledge, mate. Go and buy a history book, rather than spreading your racist views on Youtube.

  • 1 paki dislikes...

  • I wonder whether the inhabitants of the world realize how much they are indebted to Churchill. The US had no taste for war in the late '30s and Britain had to face the full force of Hitler's forces pretty much by itself. It was Churchill's indomitable spirit which kept Britain and the world afloat until America was awakened from its sleep in 1941 and came to Britain's aid. God bless you, Churchill, for all that you did and may you rest in the peace that you so richly deserve.

  • Comment removed

  • I also think that if the US had waited any longer, if Japan had done the sensible thing and not attacked when they did, then it would've been too late for all of us, even for the US. If it were left up to just us and the USSR we couldn't have won in the time needed to prevent Hitler from developing WMD. It would've taken many more years to beat Hitler, even into the 50's! But by then Hitler would've had WMD, ICBMs, SLCMs, much better jet aircraft and cruise missiles to use on us, then on the US.

  • the one person who dislike this must have some sort of mental issues...

  • FIX Bayonets!!!! CHARGE!!! GOD I FEEL PROUD!!!

  • It breaks my heart that so many gave the ultimate offering, so we would have a future. That so many today do not understand, and that past and present leaders and governments have sold us out and ignored the concerns of the British people.

They have ground us down and weakened us, they have acheived what the Germans could not . I feel ashamed.

  • Thank you for posting this.....it saved my life!

  • We are still proud that Sir Winston Churchill was once here over the islands and made famous our cigarrs. We have the best cigarr called after him. All the best from Canary Islands, Spain.

  • wow!!!!!!

  • An historical speech.

  • It's all Chamberlain and the British upper classes at that time's fault.

Churchill had some very sorry pieces to have to pick up. So you Americans out there, and you do exist, in spite of one or two who know the facts, next time you bitch at us Brits and say "If it wasn't for us, you would be speaking German", get your memory banks organised. Cos actually we could say: "If it wasn't for US you would be speaking Iroquois. Or Sioux. Or even Spanish....!"

I love this piece, thanks for posting

  • @ANDROMEDAKRAKEN

I'm British, but Churchill says in this video:

"...carry on the struggle, until in Gods good time; the New World (America)- with all its power and might - steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old."

We would have been fucked without the Americans tbh...

  • @verysmartmart And if it wasn't for us holding out in 1939, 1940 & 1941, when Americans were saying, "It's not our war", then America would've fallen as soon as Hitler developed ICBMs and the nuclear bomb. From the safety of Europe and Britain he could've bombarded the US with the A9/A10 ICBM rocket, more than likely armed with nuclear warheads once Germany developed them. So no, the US didn't just help win the war for us, they also prevented the US from becoming a nuclear wasteland as well. :)

  • @Bubo25 I don't know about that kind of attack, given the level of technology in the 1940s, my guess would be that the Germans would have tried to gain influence in South America first. And no one exactly understands why Hitler declared war on us nor what would have happened if he had not. I'm certain of one thing, that the Western Allies owe a lot to the Soviet Union for draining so much out of the German war machine. I don't see how we could have landed on the continent without them.

  • @1276epr Yes, attacking the USSR when he did was one of Hitler's major mistakes. Declaring war on the US was the other. If he hadn't attacked the USSR and declared war on the US, and had carried on attacking Britain until he'd developed the A9/A10 ICBM and nuclear weapons, then he could well have won WWII. Whether he could've invaded Britain is questionable because Germany didn't have proper amphibious assault craft, that and the RN had heavily mined the Channel and were patrolling it.

  • @1276epr Also, look up the A9/A10 rocket. It was specifically designed to attack the US east coast. It was a 2 stage ICBM called the "America Rocket". I believe Hitler wanted to use it as a means of avenging WWI. From what I've read he intended to build an even bigger rocket called the "Japan Rocket", presumably to enable an attack on the US west coast from Japan, a sub launched SLBM, and a plane lauched V1, again all to attack the US. It's also well known that Hitler was developing nukes.

  • @Bubo25 I knew he had all kinds of plans and schemes, usually involving long-range bombers, one-way bombers, etc. Some of the plans were half-baked but got promoted by German industry to Hitler, a willing sucker, because the industrialists simply wanted the funding. Had Germany been able to shake loose from fighting/invading everyone everywhere at the same time, they might have gotten further in atomic research.

  • @1276epr pretty fucked up all over, between American isolationism and lack of prepardness, France/England not taking Hitler out when they could have, USSR governed by a tyrant comparable to Hitler, a Versailles Treaty that enabled the Nazis, on and on....a perfect storm of wrong decisions, poor judgment, misperceptions, bad leadership, etc. It's unfair to criticize anybody when everyone's own camp was so off base.

  • @verysmartmart

Not really we whipped the nazis in the battle of britain and north africa before the yanks were even in the war

  • What have we come to? once so great and powerfull, now just a shadow of former glories! Poor old Winnie must be spinning in his grave.

  • He must be turning in his grave now to see his beloved country in the mess it is in and how it has become the dumping ground for the scumbags of the world.

  • I look around these days and wonder what went wrong, and of course the answer is politicians of all persuasions, we need another Sir Winston Churchill perhaps, we certainly need a decent PM to stand up to Brussels and say enough is a enough and we won't our freedom back, that freedom that was fought for so hard in 1939-45 with so many lives lost a Country that has been described recently as a Third World Nation.

  • anybody who dislikes this ... may need there heads looking at ?

  • OUR GOVERMONTS HAVE GIVE OUR COUNTRY A WAY

  • What has happened to us?

  • what a man

  • i'm embarrased as an american, with our calamaties...great britain was bombed to smitherines by germany in WWII, and they survived...how they did it, i don't know...but, as an american (9/11), we have NO idea what it means to have our entire nation bombed...great britain understands this...everyone needs a perspective...

  • @1clarinet1981 stupid American. If Britain was "bombed to smithereens", as your Hollywood-propaganda claims, how come London is full old houses?

The few broken houses in London are a joke, compared to your Allied warcriminals' Nuclear Holocaust in Hiroshima and your wicked Firestorm-Holocaust in Dresden on February 13th 1945.

Your warcriminal Churchill assaulted 500 000 refugees (mainly women and children) and deliberately massacred an unknown number of them with WHITE PHOSPHOROUS.

  • @1clarinet1981 Yes, you should be embarrassed an American indeed. Your warcriminals Churchill and Roosevelt killed over 1 Million children and women in cities like Hiroshima and Dresden, you burnt & buried them alive. And yet no memorial. Shame on you.

Notice both world wars were started on Germany by British and USA - not the other way round. America started bombing German ships on March 11th 1941 without official declaration. The Germans declared war back on you over half a year later.

  • @Elberiver11 Really? with no acknowledgement of the axis' war crimes? TROLL

  • @sprattwurst There's psycho weirdoes like the German everywhere these days. As the old saying goes, "The animals have taken over the zoo."

  • @Elberiver11 What, forgotten about Auschwitz, Belsen, Dachau, Treblinka, Sobibor, Warsaw, Coventry, "The Blitz"? In other words, shut the fuck up about supposed German purity and innocence! As Basil Fawlty once said, "You started it, you invaded Poland!"

  • @Elberiver11 actually, that's wrong.....

  • @Elberiver11 You, Sir, do not understand the concept of Total War. There comes a point when you do anything to win, do anything for the greater good.

Hammering Dresden finally broke German will to resist at full capacity, and nuclear attacks against Japan saved literally millions of lives by preventing invasion.

The concept of Total War means you do anything to win at any cost. WWII was a total war, and one that had to be won at any cost to rid the world of Hitler's flith.

  • @1clarinet1981 Yeah and even though they "understand it" they still allow their nation to be overrun by radical Muslims.

  • and that is what Britain really stands for

  • this stirring speech rallied a nation!...i get "goosebumps" listening everytime...winston was the right man, for the right cause, at the right time...

"so much owed, by so many, to so few..."

  • i'm american, and, i understand why his speeches kept the british going, thru the horror of their homeland being ruthlessly bombed...truly, a great man & PM!...read "The Last Lion," by william manchester...a very long, but great novel!

  • Brilliant!!!

  • Amazing Video, proud to be British!

  • What would Sir Winston think of our country now???

  • @maninthestreet01 something like "wow, its gone down-hill"

  • @maninthestreet01

    turn in his grave probably

  • @TheCIARANMURPHY

This tune has been a far greater inspiration to those who are proud to be British.

  • My very brave and totally unknown grandfather fought in two gruelling world wars, and ended his days in pain and near poverty. I never heard him moan or complain once, but if he could see his country now I dare not think what he would say.

Rest in peace all fallen heroes.

  • Beautiful. Very nice presentation. My respect and admiration to a heroic people like the British. You as a Nation, have a special place in history.

  • There is nothing I missed more then the times of the great european empires!

  • What once was powerful is not anymore, please help save OUR Royal Air Force, before they are gone forever

  • @grant2052 -- you know, some would stop feeding and kick the guard dog because no thieves come around (because there *was* a guard dog) ... and once it is gone, the thieves shall come some day and you will be empty handed: that day will be tragic for the UK and many of us. Best from Spain.

  • Stood outside St Pauls cathedral to see this great leader laid to rest so many years ago. Little did I realise at that time I was witnessing not just the passing of a great man but the fading into obscurity of our once great empire and the handing of our country to a barrowload of incompetent schemers bent only on their own glory and wealth to the detriment of us all. What did our ancesters fight and work for? May he and all fallen rest in peace.

  • this vid brings a tear to my eye

    what a British legend !

  • I blame the EU for that I can no longer call myself British.

My whole family fought to protect, freedom and democracy and the culture and the people of uor island and now 80% of our laws are made in Brussels.

Foreigners are good but no one would have guessed it was Gordon Brown who said British Jobs for British People!

I am joining the army, just like the rest of my family have done and will do in the West Yorkshire Regiment.

  • my grandads fought in world war 2 to keep england free at a great loss, now i cant get a job in this country they fought for cos its full of foreigners, nice one mr blair u should be ashamed1

  • I wonder what Winnie would say to that bunch of commie/marxist cretins in the government if he was here now... he kept us from invasion, and he was not perfect, but by God the old bugger had more guts in his little finger that the whole lot of traitors we have in power now.

  • @clive3262 Well said! Hear hear!

  • What the the hell would this great man think if he were alive today see what Britain has become..this bid will bring a tear to your eye.. Long live Britain and shame on labour for ruining what our great fathers fought to preserve for us!

  • How true, he would be ashamed xx RIP our guys then and today xx

  • Fantastic.....Winnie had guts...He was a Soldier ! Not like the Lilly livered Leaders of Today ! Nice Video !

  • Winston Churchill.....THAT is the sort of leader this country needs today!!! This is a fantastic leaders, and aside from Margaret Thatcher, none of our modern PM's come close to being as great a leader as Winnie was :)

This makes me so proud to be British listening to this video. It is, in my opinion, the very epitomy of British greatness, grit, and determination :)

  • Agreat tribute to a very great man. The UK could certainly do with right now.

Did you know it's Sir Winston Churchill we have to thank for the tea break all workers enjoy today?
