I think part of their "greatness" is their ability to play anything. From Floyd to Meagdeath to their own, they capture the essence of music and wrap it around your spirit. They are just vessels, that their souls use to recreate sounds in a new and yet fimilar and comforting way.

@Annulable Why does everyone like opeth? They SCREAM! Does screaming have something to do with music? Low gutteral vocals mean nothing. I don't understand how anyone can listen to that crap. @supercj8899 I agree with you....I do like heavier music, but if the vocals arent understandable how can you sing/play along with it? I love Dream Theater alot, but my favorite band is Iron Maiden-very heavy band for their day and amazing pipes by Bruce....I'd like to hear any band that came after 1993 sound even half as good as these guys do

If you want to here mainstream go listen to asking alexandria, Bring me Horizon, Of Mice And Men, or any of them. They're TOTALLY original in every way. Most metal bands have just metal and random corny love songs. They're way different from that norm.
