Disregard my last message, I've decided to let this flight go, I did some research and found out that there are more bugs so I definitely know I would've passed this checkride if someone was watching me instead of the examiner. So I pretty much know how to fly on instruments so I'll fly twin engines now. I still thank you for your tutorial it helped a lot, I'll just get an instrument rating in real life sometime instead lol.
I do have a question I completed the entire checkride and she failed me as soon the flight stopped. She said I didn't do the procedure turn correctly when nothing even popped up in yellow words, do you know what I might have done wrong. I'm doing the flight again so I'll let you know if I pass. Thanks.
I AM THE MAN! hehe after about 5 tries, I nailed it, thanks to YOU! my last 2 failures were soo silly lmao.. i accidently hit approach near NOLLA and it took me off course -.- but nailed it! :D THANKS!
OMG THANK You I've been sooooo fustrated with that dam hold pattern. I would do everything perfect. do the hold, and fail. Thanks to you I know why I truely failed. After many years of trying I now hold the fsx Intrument Rating Thank you so much!!!
You never used the NAV Autopilot. For ILS landing at Boeing Field IBFI Rw 13R one could use NAV for the localizer and then APP for the glide slope. Why didn't you do it?? Is there a reason??
I tried this exam for very long time and now thanks this tutorial i passed it and printed the certificate with my name, now i got the five certificates of FSX. This one was the last i had to get. Thank you so much!! This means alot for me. My dream is being 747 pilot in Lufthansa and now i thrust my self more!!! Again THANK YOU!!! YOU ARE THE MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG I got to NOLLA and did everything perfect and then had some turbulence and the plane was shaking making my altitude go wildly up to 2,400 and back to 2,200 and the bitch failed me!!!! gonna take another hour now!!!! Great vids tho!
I failed the stupid procedure turn AHHH!! I was alone doing it and then everybody came into my house and distracted me.... I'm gonna have to try again tomorrow...
After 2 months of failing this check ride with out knowing why,, it feels good to know that all my entries and calculations were right.
i do thank you for this great video, a lot will learn from it, but not all will give you credit for it. (i guess it human nature.) do not bediscouraged from making more videos.
great Job and Thanks again for making it happen for me. i have passed it once on AP and once on manual flying.
I AM THE MAN! It took me about three weeks, but I didn't use the autopilot for anything. It tries your patience without the autopilot that's for sure...You don't know how many times I heard the phrase "I'm sorry you're going to have to take this check ride again." Man I hate her voice too lol.
Thanks so much for making the tutorial. CHEERS! One more time I AM THE MAN!
I got really far today! I landed at Boeing Field and came to a full stop on the runway. Then she said I failed. It was for one thing: I did not turn left to the 265 degree heading.
Oh you absolute superstar!!! I can't tell you how many times I've tried this and how many times I've nearly thrown the PC through the window! Your step by step video helped me complete it in about 6 attempts. It took me a while to get used to checking my position on the map so I could make the small adjustments necessary to stay within the distance tolerances. Spot on though, I managed to do it and very satisfying it was too! Thanks again. Have you done one for the commercial pilot? :-)
@sp1r1tconsulting Well! thank you! I knew someone out there was in the same situation as me! buying a new computer everytime she falied me! :) I will look into the commercial rating one!
It`s pretty hard to pass it without AP, loooots of flight hours needed, my patience without AP ended at the middle of the holding pattern after week of tries. ))
I am interested, real life pilots IFR check-rides in flight schools are also so severe like this one and easy to fail? Or they are organised differently?
They're more difficult because you have to go to multiple airports and now with gps, you have to be able to demonstrate an RNAV approach. You also cannot use autopilot on the checkride and the tolerance for bank angles and standard rate turns is increased. It is, however, more fair in real life,.
I AM THE MAN!!! Passed it on first time by following your tutorial, thanks man. Awesome Job!

Isn't it easier to get lined up both vertically and horizontally in the ILS just by clicking the approach (APR) button on the AP?

That's one tenth of your movie. Imagine a full length feature with an intro of 1 tenth, your looking at at least 12 minutes of nothing but the intro.
I can fast forward, only if the buffer goes that far though.
Take it as constructive, or get snarky, doesn't matter to me
scoochy 1 year ago
@scoochy I'll take it as constructive!

Dang your intro's are freakin' LONG!
Nice video otherwise.
scoochy 1 year ago
@scoochy I know! the intro last 58 seconds! and eternity for some people! You could Fast Forward you know! I'll teach you how to FF one day!
Thanks for watching!
