Matters on the car. Ide rather be driving 80+ in rain in a sports car, rather than a fiat panda. The way the car is designed to stick to the road improves grip in the rain, aswell as suspension and handling of the car. Its not just te tires :).

um You drive that fast in pouring rain....They may be doing 70 here but this was the run where they average 90mph cross country and set the record. Also to beat the record you have to survive. Overall average at in the rain storm was still 91mph and the max speed set at that point of the trip was 150mph. Learn to look at what matters

In this scene, the crew hits some bad weather.. and yes in the uk it rains all year round and yes i do know people who have done 150mph in the rain, police drivers do it here all the time, i myself have do over 100mph in the rain and thats not on a big ass 20 lane highway like you guys drive on lol.. and no theres not an art to it, its all about small and accurate stearing and thinking well ahead.
