  • Gene Krupa's Orchestra with Roy Eldridge recorded the audio for this soundie (After You've Gone) on 18 Dec 1941 at the NY RCA recording studios. The next day they traveled to the Long Island Minoco stage to film the 2 other famous soundies. The audio was shelved until Sept 1942 when it was added to film footage of some of Whitey's Lindey Hoppers & Walter Fuller's quartet (they don't play on the soundie). This is a very rare piece of entertainment history from the early 1940's.

  • Most modern music and dance have their roots from African America. Jazz, boogie, rocknroll, traditional jazz, West Side story, Rolling Stones Sound, the list is endless. And think how dull the world would be without this influence. Thanks is due from all of us.
