hitiblue...try using a Gminor for the second chord of the chorus...How would they feel...would they SMILE...right there...i'll be doing a youtube video of the song...for the first time in over 35 years will the original CORRECT lyrics be available...i wrote the chorus so i can get away with changing the chords that i originally wrote for the chorus...ha!...the GMinor really works...D, Gm, C, D...should have used that in the original...oh well...kawiks Hawaii78.com
hitiblue...you should release a longer version here in hawaii...it's that stunning, haunting, and soulful...place some haunting string backgrounds playing along the actual melody in the deep background...some chorus background of polynesian style/sound...powerful and churchy....i produced the original version in which i titled "Hawaii 77",...i know a good product when i hear it...and you got something that is unique and inspirational...you could do something with this...aloha, kawiks
i keep thinking i need a better guitar, better gear, better tabs, but you really show that all you need is dedication and practice to make beautiful music. you're really one of my unsung heroes!
i think frangipane1 meant "your guitar sounds marvellous"
And i agree u sound fantastic all the way through!!! i watched this over and over about 6 times just in astonishment and excitement i want to play as good as u one day :D
i love the part at 2:15 was that u playing or the other guy...it sounded fantastic KUDOS to u my friend!!
I get the feeling while watching you're vids, that all I need in life is a plane ticket to an Island, My acoustic guitar and salt water in the air. Thanks :)
I don't think I've ever heard such meaning and emotion in a song on YouTube. Amazing work, makes me wish i could play guitar like that, now I have a goal to set for my skill with acoustics!
Hi Hitiblue! Thank you for your video, the fine timimg in your music and the great soli! I made an orchestrawork on Polynesia, on the nature and with a Polynesian song. If you are interested, you can click on my website and search for "world music"

Maybe you can send me a message what you thought of the music?
Thanks again for your fine guitar music Hitiblue!!
Thank you frangipane1, I'm happy if you enjoyed it. And yeah it sounds a little bit sad (i think that's what you meant by "sorry" lol). The version of this song that i heard was iz's one.He passed away few years ago.I thought about him when i played, so that's the result

What kind of skills do you need to be able to improvise like this, like what kind of scales and stuff?
cooper512 3 years ago
i think some pentatonnics and arppegios ^^
Maherylevrai 2 years ago
If you know many chords and scales, it's easy to improvise. Combine it with the technics you already know and make everything on feeling.
That's the way I usually improvise. ^^
On topic: lovely performance, once again!

I'm sorry there're no tabs coz it's an impro from beginnin to the end
And for those who asked about the guitar i play on, well, it's not a Martin, lol
It's a cheap and good lookin guitar: an Alexes
It sounds good but the strings are way too far from the neck. That's why i don't use my pinkie for solo on this guitar
Thanks again
