  • @Deathrape2001

OMG your the retard, needing your car is a reality, needing your porn can wait, its not like you cant view more porn on the net to work your wrist muscles.

  • @MrTtekcalb Go on with your trolling. Everything I say is true & U know it. No point reading your garbage.

  • Both my WD 80GB hard drives still run, I have one in my 9yr old dell 8200 as of now, and the other is for back up incase this one dies. But so far there still going, both WD drives are now going on 7 to 8yrs old, still work. My advice if you take good care of your hard drive it will take good care of you.

  • I dont wanna sound stupid or anything but doesnt that green thing hanging from his neck look like a ghost from pac man?

it does not connect to my computer now.

I have SO MANY movies on this hard drive.

can someone please tell me if there is a chance at saving my hard drives life and getting back all my files?

  • Is the drive clicking or making any other unusual sounds? I have a W.D. my book edition that died recently. The problem with W.D. is that the H.D.D. is not accessible. They have stupid outer shell that makes disc extraction problematic.

  • best bet... contact a data recovery service.

  • @COPMMUSIC did you try slapping your ex?

  • does anyone know of a CHEAP hard drive recovery place? my heads crashed and im looking for an independent person that can work on it.

  • @hateyourbauman : Data recovery is always quite expensive, about 500 to 2500$, becouse it's very hard to recover your files.

  • I'm so lucky (well not that lucky or i wouldn't need to fix a hard drive) a friend of mine bought the same freecom external hard drive as me on same day, I stand a good chance of getting the drives swapped over, thanks for the vid ill message wen I've got round to doing the fiddly part typical that i bought the external for all my photos so they wer that lil safer and had copies on dvds too, i wiped some of the RW DVDs to take some stuff to a mate and BOOM thats wen my external decided to fry

  • i have 353 mb of free space on my hd. this sucks

  • my external drive started clicking, will a UDA (universal drive adapter) help me to recover my files because i do not have the money or patients to open the drive and then break it and lose my files. and i need my files NOW!

  • @ olmangetitright

It can definitely be recovered, there are programs out there that can recover it for you.

  • Nice vid dude. Listen I accidentally formated my HD few weeks ago, what are the chance that a file can be recovered from it

  • Nice vid dude. Listen I accidentally formated my HD few weeks ago, what are the chance that a file can be recovered from it

  • I think it doesn't matter what hard drive you are working upon. Because if it is a case of physical damage , no software can help you. In this situation one must consult a hard drive recovery specialist. If u want an online support just google for hard drive recovery and experience the top ones Like Stellar phoenix, salvagedata etc.

  • Can anyone tell from experience if Iomega is a reliable brand for portable external hard drives?

  • My Hitachi 2.5" 320GB 7200 died after 14 months. So I want to stay away from Hitachi. To expert out there, for a replacement what brand should I look into? THANKS so much.

  • TOO MUCH INTRO

  • WHAT DO YOU HAVE WITH ROMANIAN AK ?

I am from Romania and I have a broken Seagate too... so the problem is when you drop the hard disc (especially the external ones) they usually don't resist at a shock in excess of 350 Gs ... maximum amount of Gforces the hard drive can take, dropping it gives about 100 :( but it depends on what surface you drop it and in what position it falls.

  • 2 weeks!! ok it was maybe 5 months between each board and different chip brands, now I understand its clear they have been made very different inside I hope ill get more success with a good one.

  • my hdd circuit is completly dead, I purchase the exact same board part but it wasnt made in malaysia but china and is a little bit different, it cant see the disk :(

  • I dropped my External Harddrive, windows cant recognise it. The power turns on but it just clicks for 30 seconds then the light turns blue from green.

Anyone have any ideas of the best way to manually fix it? I'm a student, i cant afford to get it fixed and it has all my 3rd year degree work on it that I need to graduate in a week... Anyone?

  • i have the same exact problem. dropped my external and now when i turn it on the thing just clicks and windows doesn't recognize it. i'm hoping the data is alright. did you end up just sending it into a data recovery place?

  • your website is dead? whats the adress?

  • im having a hard time finding it too. i just tried.

  • i always thought maybe it work if you took out the platter and put it into an identicle working drive

  • wow thank you for sharing this I learned a Lot

  • I believe you can set up a working harddisk as primary and your original "broken" one as secondary.... boot it off and it recovers by itself by sharing the files from the *working* harddrive....thats what I did and it worked:)

  • The circuit drive of my hard drive died T_T Never went through the trouble to fix it myself, and never wanted to spend hundreds of dollars to get it fixed.

  • I use EnCase and I have been unsuccessful in recovering a harddrive which used a similar program as evidence eliminator, it appears to have overwritten the data but it looks like it's using a binary checkerboard method with two passes of overwriting "DoD standard", then a third pass of pseudorandom garbage. I've attempted to recover the unallocated space but no go, is this data toast?

  • Yes the data is toast. However, there are usually some things left behind in the registry and other locations each time something is cleared. Also you can use Encase's ability to look at what is called MACE times and you will notice that the size of the clusters changed and notes a Date and Time. So while you cannot get the data back you can make a forensic case out of it showing the destruction of evidence.

  • True, but isn't there a method of manipulating the times/dates of when the data was erased or the regedits? What are MACE times? Also would destruction of data hold up in court if the individual did this before an investigation was ongoing?

  • Good point, i'll take my Romanian AK 7.2 x 39 to the range and put a few rounds into that thing and see if I can still recover data with a Magnetic Force Microscope.

  • The program used is called Terminus 6, it appears to wipe out the registry as well, when recovering files, it pulled volume information but the few files in unallocated space were strange file names like FInfinfFo.fo0, their large files that appear to be nothing but garbage ranging to about 500megs per file.

  • Hi. Thx for your great videos!

    I have a QUESTION:

I've got a HDD which has this clicking noise when BIOS tries to recognize it.

Is there a chance that if I let BIOS try for a few hours, the HDD could somehow be recognized?

  • I recently sat my external drive down on a guitar amplifier. Since then it hasn't worked. It makes this clicking noise. I was wondering if it is more likely to be a hardware problem with the heads? or is a software recovery is still my first port of call. any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated!

  • awesome

  • hey spyware has deleted my computer HELP

  • can you tell me the diference between a fire wire hard drive and a regular one, my school gave me one with fire wire, and is too big to carry around, so i bought a regular drive and i forgot that it needs to have fire wire, why do i need it to be fire wire? what is the diferende? THANK YOU.

  • Other than a cable and a connector there is no difference. The drive inside is the same as a USB depending on SATA or IDE.

  • so i can save stuff into my drive as long as i have room for it? we are going to use final cut pro, is a program about video (just in case you dont know) i just want to make sure that im not going to have any trouble saving stuff from final cut as long as i have room thats all. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME ILL GIVE YOU A 5 STAR.

  • Yes, you can save stuff as long as there is room. I would leave a few megs free just because something run over and will cause the application to crash.

  • nice! yeah when im done with my projects i will move them into the big ass hard drive my school gave me haha. THANKS.

  • Holy guacamole! I feel like i should be charged for this information.

  • Feel Free to Send me Money AnyTIME!

  • Does anyone know?

I have a samsung 500GB drive in a external casing, last week I powered this hd on, and I heard a very loud screeeech! noise. Does anyone know what that couldve been and why that is?

I think hd's park the heads when shut down. this harddrive is in external casing, and when my windows shuts down the pc, I have to manualy shut down this disk. But I guess it heads will parkd like the rest of the internal drives i guess when I shut it down manualy, can any1 can confirm?

  • same problem here. Sometimes the drive is dected others its not and the same happens on other computers. it stoped working

  • Screech? Maybe the head scratching the platters?

  • Im not sure what it was, but thats what im afraid of...... The first thing that coes to mind is, how was that even possible. I thought Harddrives create a air-cuschion when they spin-up for the heads to float on. What I heard sounded like scratching smooth metal!

    help please.

  • if my PC crashes can I recover it the data on it or just get it fixed with it formated?

  • Your only option to recover data from a broken hard drive is to send it a a costly data recovery business (hundreds of dollars or more). To avoid this, make regular backups of all important files to an external HDD, and mroe extra redunancy, to DVDs.

  • i took the harddrive out of my mom laptop when it was on hibernate.. and i didnt noe. and when i put it bak in it came up to the screen that says "Resuming Windows" and it wont resume it and it doesnt have the loading bar

  • when the laptop boots up wait for a few secs and push and hold down the power button and let it turn off. Then power it on and it should ask you "Do you want to delete hibernation files?" say yes and it should boot up!

  • your not suppose to take it appart while its on... its a bit risky to take it apart in the first place lmao

  • Hibernate actually is off. The computer has saved the data to the HDD.

Anyways it's F8 you should be able to remove the hibernation info and you'll be able to restart.

  • Hi SuperflyflippingA, wasn't try to be mean or something, anyways:P :) Something else I wanted to mention, I had a stuck file once, I tried to delete it using all means, nothing worked. I did notice it did not have an ending to the file name like example: .exe .dsc etc. and it was showing up as 0kbs. I decided to do a fresh reinstall of windows XP home.

  • the HDD in my old pc makes a scraping noise when i turn the pc on. its as if something is touching the disc as it's spining. as a result of this my pc wont boot. it displays errors in the bios. everything else is fine but the HDD is causing the system not to boot.

anybody know how to fix this?

    thanks

  • Ok look i have a 500gb hard drive and i didnt format it. i have bout 320gb used and i dont want to lose it. how do i transfer the data to somthing else or open hard drive when i didnt do format. windows says that iit cant read data since no format was made. plz help me ty ALL EC300

  • ec3000, if you can still get the same message of "cant read data" because of a possible damage to your HD C, try to see if you can boot up your pc in safe mode. Once you are in safe mode, try to see if your pc recognizes your HD C? If it does, shut down your pc and remove your HD C. Make a label for it as HD D so you know it is the old one ...

  • Buy a new 500 GB HD and label it as HD C, then format it as your new HD C (Master). Shut down your pc, hook up your old HD as D (Slave). Make sure to set the jumpers correctly. Once again, boot up your pc in safe mode, your pc should recognizes your old HD as D. Try to copy the necessary files as soon as you can. If you succeed, then send me your old hard drive as my reward. Good luck.

  • If anyone is interested I will have a whole new speech at Defcon 15 this August 2007. If you want to learn more and all new stuff about data recovery then you should attend.

  • my hard drive is starting to click. :-(. Gonna have to get a new one. No need for data recovery. I haven't got any porn or music I can't re-download. haha. Any good ideas on how to totally destroy it after it completely fucks up? I was thinking making a tiny ANFO bomb to blow it up, but then I decided I'd probably go to jail for that. Any ideas?

  • I've seen people take a sledge hammer to their old hd on yt. Seen them scrape the head on the platter and destroy the platter, but I've not seen anyone blow up the hd with ANFO on yt. It is an original idea, but I have a feeling if I put a video of that on yt the FBI would come talk to me.

  • Interesting stuff

  • w w w . myharddrivedied . c o m

  • whats the web page?? tnx

  • This was in October 2006. All the data here is the same for SATA. There are very little differences for SATA but the major one being that when the channel is reset the card has to be reset as it seems it does not reset like it does on PATA.

  • what year is this an is the info the same with sata hard drives
