Slater didn't get the score because of his weak final move on that last wave. He totally missed the section and didn't really finish the wave. If he did, he had it. But he didn't. Stairmand smashed that left and it was definitely a 9. Jake Patterson called it and the judges agreed

lly got robbed. That left was not a 9. Judges seem to hold Kelly to a different standard than the surfer opposing him. All the more amazing that in spite of that he has won 10 world titles. All the surfers in that contest were great surfers. Billy Stairmond included. Then there is Kelly!
