The simplicity of the basslines and their effectiveness within Joy Division tracks inspired me to pick up a bass. Here I am a couple of decades later. Cheers Hooky !

I've been a JD fan since I saw them perform transmission and she's lost control on "something else" way back in the day. They are my favourite band of all time. Every song is a classic...
para todos los fanaticos de esta gran banda no permitire que este album se termine con 2 canciones... el 2 de enero colgare mi primer single no me fallen acabemos con la basura comercial trivial por M M pasen la voz

It's glorious how such ominous and depressing music can actually uplift you. Bands like Joy Division speak to me on so many different level. Dont glorify the tragedy just the triumph that this band can to do so many people generations later...
incredible!...as ian curtis it make us pass along an inhospitable and oppressive atmosphere in the song and at the same time thrill us!!! a few singers could got it.
and the solo final charles (of drums) its outbreathing!!!! awesome, there is no words....
the chorus sends shivers down my spine every time - theres just such an ominous feel, an aura to it that no other band seems to be able to produce. r.i.p ian, you were the greatest musical genius that this world has ever seen, and probably ever will see.
@deadAmandA1990 Amazing film, I was on the verge of tears at the end titles...and then the fucking killers come on and completely kill the atmosphere. What a shit cover of shadowplay.
The liner notes for Still (idiotic rock writing as usual) attack Hannett's production of this song. I think it's great - the bass put up front and everything else recessed.
The howling sound you're refering to, is a lift that was part of the recording studio. Martin recorded it & thought it sounded cool to use. Forget where i read that, but it's apparently true!
joy division sound like a full emotive orchesta playing... and I love how all their songs reach a huge emotive point near the end... got to catch that
It's an amazing song... Hearing it brings me back to when I first heard Joy Division in '95 in the darkroom, printing pictures under the amber hue of the safe light... Joy Division Is... just incredibly powerful...
I know it can't be helped, but I really wish I could have been around when they were on the scene... Stoopid birth in 1977...
ive been listening to JD none stop since october and i come across a differnt one of there tunes every minute and eveyone of them are unbelevable and they were only a band for 3 yrs.greatest band of all time
Joy Division's best song? Honestly to me it depends on what mood I am in at the time. Joy Divisions songs are all my favorite songs I can't help it I love the band.
