Thanks for posting this lovely song by your very talented and beautiful family member. I feel privileged to view this video. And thanks, Barb, for the share.
Ever since Phyllis played Loretta Lynn's mom in Coal Miner's Daughter, I've been trying for find out what other projects she worked on. Really, she should have been nominated for a best supporting Oscar for her portrayal as Mrs. Clara Webb Butcher.
@morganmay1 : The Dollmaker is an excellent book, and the movie, starring Jane Fonda, followed the book pretty closely. One of my favorites. Do you know which part Phyllis Bovens played? Thanks for the info.
I remember the weekend nights visiting with my grandparents. Out on the front porch being rock by g.maw Molly and listening to the voices as they carried on the night air and blended in story and song. Three of our most endearing family members who hold such tremendous places in my heart and memories.
phyllis is my sons grandmother she is surely missed my son couldnt have asked for a better grandmother or i a better mother-in-law glad you all posted this also tring to reach her cousin carol if anyones how to reach her thanks
Thank you for posting this video. This is one thing that alot of family's dont have!!! I miss her sooooo much but if I want to hear or see her all I have to do is push play!!! I love you and miss you maw-maw!!!
Despite everyone looking so serious in this video, I must say that my great-grandpa Nimrod's laugh, and great-grandma Molly's quiet little smile are foremost in my childhood memories of them. Phyllis-Sue also had a wonderful smile, and combined mountain culture sentimentality with a bright intelligence. She was good at putting people at their ease.
A song strait from the heart of a beautiful woman with a voice full of emotion...It is sad to hear that her voice has been silenced....away too soon...to her family: treasure the good memories, they will carry you thru.....Don
Phyllis Sue is my mother Dorothys baby sister and Nimrod is my Grandfather, and Molly my Grandmother! This brings back so many memories..I sure will miss them! They will forever be in our hearts!llllll Sharon
That is such a beautiful song by cousin Phyllis. Uncle Nimrod just looks so much like my daddy. I sure hated to hear that Phyllis passed away. I never got to meet her. I remember Uncle Nimrod well, but I can't remember Aunt Molly. Uncle Nimrod used to visit us here in Ky.
Phyllis Boyens played the small part of the 'Postmaster/busybody', in 'The Doll Maker' .

I will have to check that film out. Actually I may have seen parts of it. Thanks for letting me know.
I read somewhere that Loretta Lynn was very impressed with Phyllis and thought that she was very beautiful.
