His eyes are closed because he's an homage to geriatric1927, who kept his eyes closed in his early videos. As was true with g1927, strange1727 is alone in the room. In this case, the room is the pastor's study at Berkeley Friends Church, Berkeley, Calif. The picture of the time machine was up in the study for about three weeks and not a single person asked about it.

I commented yesterday on g1927's channel how frustrating it was to try imitating his voice. I actually don't think I was successful. I got the dialect fairly close, but I can't get his exquisite rich tone. His voice is glorious--what a gifted man!
