  • Very well said. I dont know much about American politics as i live in Australia, but you have raised some very interesting points. You have a very good way of speaking.

    Thanks for the videos.

  • Thanks for watching.

  • There are so many flaws on this video I don't know where to start. But hey I'll try.

1st: What the hell does the debt have to do with christian or any kind of morals?

2nd: You try to claim that christians agree fully with the war in Iraq based on moral beliefs which is another fallacy.

3rd: Yes corruption is bad but barely any of these so-called "political scandals" haven't been even proven yet.

  • Nonsense. I didn't make the first two claims and as to the third, can you say Foley, Tom Delay and Jack Abramoff?

  • If you didn't make the first two claims then why did you mention the debt and the war in the first place? What does the debt have to do with morality?

  • Why do you insist I linked the two? Just because I appealed to Christians doesn't mean their only motivation is morality. I was trying to get them to send a message. They did.

  • Thanks, I respect that.

  • Reluctant Readneck,

I stumbled on your video after the election. It was pure beauty. Honest, passionate, thoughtful and eloquent. Thanks for having the courage to speak your heart and mind. If you ever write a book. I am buying it. As long as its heavier on the Philosophy than the fly fishing. ;)

    Cheers from Boston.

  • Thanks. Zen and the Art of Fly Fishing... I'm sure it's been done. lol

  • wonderful!

I used to be pretty conservative but NO MORE!

  • Thanks.

  • I agree. but in this case, I think the message we sent was more important than most of the issues. The message that the people DO still have the power of the vote. The message that if they reach too far, we'll take action. That was the key, IMO. Thanks for your comment.

  • Right on, RR. And look what happened! Heh.

  • Thanks!

  • That's a great idea. lol

  • Thank you.

  • know you're happy-- please drink responsibly- :)

  • Cheers!

  • BRAVO

  • Thanks, Sadie!

  • To all my subscribers and those of you who chose to vote and to those that helped get out the vote- THANKS!

You guys did a wonderful job yesterday. I don't think it could have gone any better. There's a lot of work to be done, but for today, let's just celebrate! Later, Tony.

  • Good points. What happened to the Republican belief in fiscal responsibility? Why is the GOP so Pro War when if they were so concerned about National Security they would have sealed our porous borders and ports. Parents- what nightmare are we creating for our children and grandchildren?

  • Thank you.

  • hey RR--- Congratulations. we got em!

  • Yea, baby! Thank god!

  • Take a man named Bob, and for a few years, have everyone in his life call him John. He will eventually believe his name is John. It has been amazing to watch, actually. Someone earlier mentioned the innocent dying in Iraq. Unfortunately, the alternative is innocent dying in the US. The chances of that happening now just jumped through the roof...

Be careful what you wish for. I respect you RR, and hope I'm wrong... Time will tell... GL

  • u mean- let the innocents die over there ? or do you mean- if they don't die, we'll die ? means - innocents in iraq are the enemy of innocents in america ?

  • take a plunder/massacre named iraq and start calling it war- and and keep on calling it a war until everyone starts following like a sheep....

  • Erik, re: innocents, neither is good. We all want Utopia, but only a fool believes it is possible. As far as calling it war, weren't many of these same Democrats in the 107th Congress that originally called it war with their joint resolution to authorize the use of United States Armed Forces against Iraq in 2002?

  • I don't understand the logic to believing we are more open to terrorist attacks due to the democrats having a majority in congress. History does not concur with your assessment. It's not our chosen leaders the extremists deplore, it's our way of life. The current administration did not help this challenge by blowing up innocent civilians in a country not responsible for attacking the US.

  • So, are you saying it's ok to kill "other" innocent people in order to save innocent Americans? What gives you the right? The Iraqi people weren't a part of 9/11 and there has never been an Iraqi commit a terrorist act against America (although, there probably will be now!). So, what right do we have to turn their country into the 'central battlefield' against Al Qaeda? Is that what Jesus would do?

  • You people are unreal. Let's leave Jesus and God out of this, if you try to understand that you'll just hurt your head, i.e. "God is not willing that any should perish" and also telling His children to kill all the people in a country, women and children included. You can't get your head around that, so don't try. Just stick with what we're talking about... (continued)

  • It's pretty easy to understand. God (Old Test, Torah) was a vengeful god, liked blood sacrifices, and urged his people to kill all non-believers (sound familiar?). God, New Test, is complete opposite. Why? Obviously, they are not the same God/god. I personally don't believe you can believe in both. I, as a Christian, believe Jesus came to set the record straight that the One True God was not a blood-thirsty, angry, vengeful taker-of-life.

  • (cont') So, what I was getting at in previous post was the Jesus taught that all life was sacred ('That what you do to the least of my brothers, you do unto me). So, it's a question of morality, if you are a Christian. You can't select what life is worthy and which is not. That is up to God. And, you have no right to take life in vengence or revenge. Remember the teachings about forgiveness (7x77) and 'turn the other cheek'.

  • (continued)...Innocent deaths, like I said, are never good. Please answer my hypothetical question though: Let's say that Australia's government goes rogue, develops nuclear suitase bombs, and declares war against us like Hamas did yesterday (I know that isn't going to happen with Australia, but stay with me). They already have operatives inside the US, with suitase nukes, before the declaration is made. They start with New York, and lots of "innocents" are dying. Tell me what you would do.

  • Why should we fear terrorists? If you have faith in the teachings of Jesus Christ, they cannot harm you. 'The Lord is thy sheppard'. When they came for Jesus, he did not resist. He did not lash out. He was 'Led as a lamb to the slaughter.' and he did not wish vengence upon his killers but instead asked God to forgive them. I believe if we had done so after 9/11, it would have sent a powerful message to the world. A message of Peace over violence.

  • See? Now your head will hurt. We serve different gods. You go and be happy with the god that you've created in your own mind, and good luck with it.

    Now answer my hypothetical.

  • See? Now your head will hurt. We serve different gods. You go and be happy with the god that you've created in your own mind, and good luck with it.

    Now answer my hypothetical.

  • See? Now your head will hurt. We serve different gods. You go and be happy with the god that you've created in your own mind, and good luck with it.

    Now answer my hypothetical.

  • repetition is funny...

  • I wouldn't do anything. I know the typical reaction would be, and what you'd like me to say is, 'Well then we would have to nuke them back and turn Austrailia into a big glass bowl!'. But, what would that solve? We would just be guaranteeing more destruction and violence upon ourselves until we destroyed the whole world. Which is where this is all heading. Tit for tat killing. Do you think maybe Jesus was trying to warn us of something when he urged us to turn the other cheek as he did?

  • So... Now they've killed a million in LA, another million in Denver, and an uncounted, as of yet, number in Chicago; and from Australia they claim they have 20 more nukes. How long will you keep turning the other cheek? I'm not slamming you, I'm serious, think it through with me. Would you still not do anything?

  • Point is, 'Mutually Assured Destruction'. In other what difference does it make, at that point? How many nukes going off in the US do you think it takes before it's destroyed or at worst, uninhabitable? If they got 20 more nukes, we're about fucked then, aren't we? So, we destroy them too. So what. We destroy the Earth in the process. Does that make us the winners? It just means we're complicit in total annihilation. And, wouldn't that be something to be proud of!?

  • Since then you certainly don't want to see billions of people killed by people who are looking to do so on purpose, are you then going to be intellectually honest and say the best way to keep that from happening is to stop it before it starts, or do everything possible to stop it when it does? As far as 'something to be proud of', if you or your loved ones are dead, you'll wish somebody had stopped it. Everybody wants Utopia, but the honest know it isn't going to happen. Not in this age anyway.

  • youtube keeps deleting my response... i'll try tomorrow

  • I did not 'create' the God I serve. I try to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. And you? My God is a God of peace, love of my enemies and forgiveness. I did not make that stuff up. It's what He preached. Remember that the earliest Christians were persecuted relentlessly but did not resist. And, somehow, the Word spread and the belief grew. Peace is more powerful than violence. When you hurt or kill someone else, you hurt yourself.

  • I am not religious, but if by teachings of Jesus you mean the Bible, do you rip out the part where it says he is the same yesterday, today, and forever? I'm also curious what you do with Revelation, where it talks about him coming back to the earth and slaying all of his enemies until the blood is up to the horses bridles?

  • Me, personally, I don't take much heed in the Old Testament or all of the New Testament. I'm smart enough to know that both are capable of being, and probably have been corrupted at some point. You cannot deny that God in OT is not the same God in NT. Revelations is like OT, metaphors. Not meant for literal translation. NT is different in it's an account of one man's life, we believe, mostly factual.

  • Any read of what Jesus said clearly shows that most of everything he taught was straight out of the O.T. The O.T. basically fortells everything that happens in the N.T., and the N.T. refers back to the O.T. constantly. How can you separate them?

  • Not what you're reading but, the OT was 'eye for eye, tooth for tooth' and had explicit instructions for exacting blood-letting revenge for specific 'offenses' committed between people whereas Jesus taught the exact opposite, 'turn the other cheek' and forgiveness. You'll find no mention whatsoever in the OT of anything resembling forgiveness. The OT doesn't fortell anything that happened in the NT and is the reason the Jews rejected Jesus.

  • Errrr, no mention whatsoever? I won't bother to copy the hundreds of references, I'll just give you a few out of the well known Psalms: see 32:1, 65:3, 86:5, 130:4. Throw in Daniel 9:9 for good measure. Have fun with Jonah 4:2, Proverbs 24:17, and Amos 7:6. I won't even start on how most of the new testament came from the old, that's way more than 500 characters, lol.

  • You've been brainwashed well. It appears you're not alone. Very Sad.

  • Tonight, I'm very happy. Thanks for your comment.

  • Thanks.

  • Thanks. I appreciate that.

  • I hope so.

  • Thanks.

  • Thanks.

  • Interesting. I have to confess, I've never heard the slogan "what would john wayne do" before! I would like to advise you not to use God for this... advertising. That can't be wise.

  • lol. I lost my mind. I've just missed John and wanted him back for this election... Thanks for your comment.

  • To turn our political parties into religious parties is anti-democratic. To say all Republicans are Christian, and all Democrats are non-Christian is ridiculous. No, we do not all see eye-to-eye on certain moral issues, but neither do all Christian denominations see things the same. Our elected leaders govern through law...human law. We should hold them accountable to those laws...Republican or Democrat.

  • I agree. Thanks for your comment.

  • Well said picassolama!

  • One of the tenants of our constitution is freedom of religion. You can't force "Christian" values on people.

Trading votes for Christian agenda legislation is wrong. The entire election system needs to be overhauled.

  • They aren't out for you, Bro, they are out for themselves and their Korporate masters. I hope you are just kidding. If not then you are as deluded as I once was. Best to you. No bad intent meant. Just one Christian to another.

  • You are so funny, dude. The sad thin is that I was once a Fallwell-Robertson worshipping Xtian like you. Then Dubya got elected and I woke up. Ever hear of Jeff Gannon? Ever hear of Mark Foley? When was the last time a Rethuglican introduced an anti-abortion bill in Congress?

  • Thanks.

  • You are the best. The People united, we cannot be defeated. time to throw the bums out! You go T!

  • Thanks!

  • As a Liberal Republican (we're few and far between but we DO exist) AND a non-Christian, it's good to see there are at least some sheep with a brain of their own. I'm glad to know that gay marriage, stem cell research, abortion, etc. can be put on the back burner for what's most important in this country. Hopefully the Democrats will get us back on track.

  • with all due due respect to your belief- we really shouldn't categorize ourselves in different religious classes and tie them in politics. whoever screws up the power- vote his hind end out. keep religion and class detached from the power and might of a vote.

  • I agree completely. That's why separation of Church and State was established. However that law apparently doesn't apply to people with enough power *cough*stem cell research ban*cough*

  • I think we'll see some changes there.

  • If we don't, I'm moving to Asia.

    Who's with me?

  • Thank you.

  • Thanks.

  • Thanks.

  • Thanks for your comment.

  • You assume that Christians feel the same way about Republicans that you do. Yes, the Republicans have their faults and their bad eggs, but are you suggesting the democrats don't? Why would we want to send a message to Republicans by electing people we know for sure don't have our interests at heart? That's just goofy.

  • It's not goofy, at all. This administration has totally abused Christians for their own power. They are using us and laughing behind our backs. There is nothing Christian about war and intolerance. What do they have to do before Christians realize they're being used to destroy the liberties that our forefathers fought for?

  • You see, now that's just the problem. I don't agree that Republicans have used and abused Christians, or that they are laughing behind our backs, or that the war is unjust, or that they are intolerant, or that they are destroying our liberties.

  • That's your right and I respect it. I just see things differently.

  • The majority of people see things differently!

  • I do however believe the democrats are using minorities and keeping them in poverty. I also believe they are morally corrupt to the point that the truth is irrelevant and a lie is just a friendly tool to gain power. I believe that if they had their way the security of this nation would be in serious jeopardy, I believe they are very intolerant to anyone who doesn't agree with them and I believe they have already done a great deal to destroy our freedoms and they want to do more.

  • preacherman777- destryoing your freedom? u must be reffering to the destruction of Habeas Corpus --?

  • " That our forefathers fought for?" I'm thinking that was titled the Revolutionary War. Not trying to be a smart ass.

  • It's cute that you still think the Republicans have your interests at heart.

  • The ONLY thing the ACLU does is protect the Bill of Rights. They didn't write it. They just respect and defend it. If you want to wiretap just go through the courts. It's not easy being a true American. You have to respect the rights of those who you totally disagree with.

  • Thanks.

  • As bad as you think this is now, it would be worse to vote democrat. Dont just vote for "another party' just because you dont like this one. You might end up voting the country into the gutter. Democrats are definitely not for Christian values...and they have no plans fo anything. Quit acting like an authority...i can think for myself....and I am not abandoning my party!!..like you are.

  • Bullcorn. They abandoned me and the rest of the country. They're all about big business and protecting the interests of the rich.

  • I was watching RoseAnn's HBO special and she asked "Why do working class people vote Republican? That like chickens voting for Colonel Sanders." It was hilarious.

  • Nobody's asking you to abandon your party, he's asking you to not abandon your country. Much more important to be an American than a Republican.

  • well said. this guy just wants others to follow him. he thinks kerry and his gang are any better? please.

  • you are not abandoniing your party but your country.

  • Because the Democrats believe in the constitution.

  • Thanks for the comment.

  • Thank you.

  • Yep. But faith should be reserved for God, not politics.

  • That's great! Thanks.

  • this is the smartest thing I have heard coming out of the mouth of an American redneck...(the world is watching and hoping EVERYONE really digs deep and makes the intelligent choice).

  • Thanks.

  • God bless her. She's a role model!

  • As if the alternative is any better. Both sides are equally bad. The Dems are just as bad at lying as Republicans.

Until Americans shout FUCK YOU to both parties nothing will really change. Both parties use us as pawns in their power game. It sucks.

  • As the two parties become more extreme the more they push the US citizens towards moderate. It's time we pulled both of these parties off their pillars; however, nothing will change and the next generation will be stuck with the mess we've made.

  • I think we have to try.

  • please don't be blind sheeps--VOTE!!

  • Yea!

  • Thanks for that RR. It does plainly put it down what this election's about. Whatever passes for Republicans these days is a sad shade of the party of Lincoln.

Reagan once said he left the Democrats because they left him. Will Republicans ever have the courage to make that choice?

    Good luck tomorrow.

  • Many will work with us tomorrow. Thanks.

  • I think that this video is fake.

  • Would it be possible for you to capture it on video?

  • God Help Us All!!!! If reasonable people don't win this election in the House and Senate, I would have to assume that we don't have enough reasonable people in the USA, and that my friends is SAD, really SAD. Thank you Tony for saying what I would say if you hadn't said it first LOL :-)

  • Thank you.

  • Thank you. The failings of the present GOP shows how power corrupts. The GOP have blatantly lied to us again and again. The ongoing problems with Katrina, Iraq, and Congressional scandals has to stop. You can't fool all the people all the time.- Lincoln.

  • It's a mess. Thanks.

  • Christians, read the Bible cover to cover. Count how many times Jesus is concerned with abortion. Count how many times he mentions gay marriage. Then, count how many times he is concerned with helping the poor, oppressed, and less fortunate. Then, at the polls tomorrow, consider the big picture of the Bible, relate that to the positions of the Democratic and Republican parties, and ask yourself "What Would Jesus Do?"

  • Great comment. Thanks.

  • Jesus would attempt to overthrow your government...

  • You are so right! But there are so many Christians that are so judgemental and so Pro-War. How can you be against killing and be Pro-War? I don't get it? The estimates for the Iraqi's killed is from 350,000 to as high 650,000- that's just staggering. Maybe it doesn't matter since their not Christians?!

  • Sadly, I think you're preaching to the converted.

  • I think the message is getting out. Thanks.

  • Once again agree 100% !! Have you thought about taking your camera to the streets tommorrow to see what folks really think @ the polls? I am in Denver your in Boulder we should make a video about who is voting for what in Colorado ...just a last minute idea..

  • I'm overbooked tomorrow and have my own folks to get to the polls. Maybe you could shoot and I could help put it together or something. I'm just super busy right now...

  • Thank you.

  • Um, excuse me, I'm Christian and I vote DMCRT. Most of the 'other Christians' I know vote DMCRT as well. I think the media is dragging numbers out of thin air (because we all know the evil empirer Bush controls all media outlets in the US).

  • Great. I knew I didn't have to worry about you. lol Thanks for the comment.

  • Do you think Jesus Christ would vote for Bush?

  • To modify a phrase from a real conservative, "In your heart you know that the ReluctantRedneck is right."

  • Thanks, Gary.

  • AMEN!

  • I'm afraid many Christian fundamentalists don't really care what they do as long as they are opposed to abortion and gay marriage. I wish they could look beyond these things and think about the innocent people dying in Iraq. The Rupublicans will always take the fundamentalists for granted as long as nothing else matters to them.

  • I'm hoping they think about it.

  • Yep. Abortion and gay marriage. Two issues that, to my knowledge, Jesus never once mentioned. Anywhere.

Yet some of us flawed mortals would purport to know exactly how He would feel about it. Then preach it, with certainty.

Granted, there weren't abortion clinics at the time, so the topic never came up. But homosexuality has always existed, and Jesus never mentioned it.

  • Abortion has existed since (the original sin) and you are correct, Jesus never mentioned it.

  • Very true.

  • Thx Tony. I would also ask any good Christians to ask themselves, who lives according to honest Christian morals:

    George Bush?

    or David Kuo?

(you know the guy. recent author of "Tempting Faith", who clearly feels betrayed by the Bush Administration)

  • Thanks.

  • Good Christians don't condone child molestation, or people who try and cover it up. Dont let people get away with that kind of unacceptible crap!

  • Thank you.

  • Christians have waking up to the fact that they've been used, since 2004, according to Pew Trust polls. Good vid!

  • Thanks.

  • Tony, please read this. You would maybe be #1 in most discussed if you let us conservatives have our say. You seem like a very decent guy - I like your style and your vids - you are deleted our right to fair and open debate. I will have vids in Dec (I work a lot) to prove this since I just photographed this page. Delete me if you want. An open forum would be nice. Peace Tony.

  • Comment withdrawn - didn't read down far enough (we were outnumbered) lol
