We are familiar with 'survivor's guilt' and we know that children are so very prone to blame themselves for divorce, the death of a parent or sibling... Yet christians think nothing of teaching even very young children that they are born into sin, that their best virtues are but filthy rags in god's sight, and that they personally are responsible for the betrayal, torture, and death of the best man ever to live. They are taught that they deserve hell. This is evil. This is abuse!
