Ashley Abbott, Tony DiMera, Frisco Jones, Reva Shayne. It's a shame that shows feel they need to become the greatest hits collection of other shows. Like Y&R now. I firmly believe they should focus on their core cast rather than going out to get every other popular actor from other soap operas. They have Maura West, Stephen Nichols, Genie Francis, Tristan Rogers. So many popular stars from other shows. Why not focus on keeping the cast that made the show popular?
This a nice way to end your show, to be honest, although Rauch's little cigar bit is a tiny tad on the nose. And why are so many of the staff Billy Mays?
This was President Reagan's favorite soap. Very coincendental is ended at the end of the Reagan/Bush era. Bill Clinton was sworn into his first term as President; around this time.
I remember when it ended and it always felt incomplete because they never did reunite Cruz & Eden for this episode, not even to tell the viewers that they reunited even though the actors must have been unavailable. And too true, too many original cast members gone put the nail in the coffin.
Santa Barbara was like watching a completely different show for its last 2 seasons.Only a handful of original characters remained in its final days, let alone the original actors who portrayed them,or original cast members.
you mean after Lane Davies left, Marcy Walker, Robin Right Penn, Justin Deas, A Martinez......
This isn't even Santa Barbara anymore. Gina married to Lionel and who are all those other faces that no one recognizes (except for CC, Sophie and Julia)...Zzzz No wonder NBC cancelled this pile of sadness.
Now, this isn't the show I loved. I loved SB with its reas cast.
@Bliss44 Same thing happened to "Guiding Light"... my 2 favorite soaps: GL & SB... How many emotions!!!!! Yes, Lane Davies was great too, and Mason was a wonderful character. Ciao!
A happy ending to a great show, but I wish Cruz and Eden came back. Nice that they acknowledged the people working behind the scenes, too. SoapNet needs to rerun this show STAT.
P.S. At the 7:53 mark is a man named Art Painter. LOL
Very sad and beautiful end but I will always thought there was a big lack in the end of the show, the story of Cruz and Eden who was so wonderful. I dream of a reunion of all the cast 15 years after. Thanks
"Santa Barbara" died for me after Marcy Walker left the show. She was the heart of SB. Too bad she left!

Why is Reva in Santa Barbara? Is this after she drove her car off a bridge or something?

Not a soap opera fan, but I think this show saw its demise coming after A Martinez left.

At least they cancelled it after nine years. Certain well known soap operas have dragged for 30-40 years.

it's still sad, though.

I didn't even realize that Robin Mattson(Gina) was still on SB when it got cancelled.

it still wasn't the same show...

obviously not!I stopped following it around '90 anyway.

@Bliss44 To me, SB ended when Keith left town... I mean, Justin Deas' Keith!! 1986/1987 and 1988 were WONDERFUL YEARS.

@fullimmerzion yeah, he did a great job and I loved him for it. But my no. 1 was in fact Lane Davies.
But this is neither here nor there, SB lost way too many great actors/characters. It had to be cancelled. Unfortunately.
