hi... ran my first half marathon in the vomero 5.... unfortunately when training got shin splits and had a tough time.... i think i have flat feet... on analysing realised that vomero 5 is for neutral feet.... is that the reason for shin splits in my case? would really appreciate feedback and am now considering buying the nike structure triax 14... is it the correct decision or asics gel kayano 17?
Too bad you didn't address the size issue. There are people saying you need to buy a 1/2 size larger which apparently you had to do with the +4. Then there are others that say buy a 1/2 size smaller as the configuration of the +5 has been changed since the +4. This would have been very helpful to me.
I purchased the Vomero 5 two months ago. I previously ran with the Asics Nimbus series which I enjoy very much. The Vomero 5 fits my foot very well. At first, I the shoe felt like there was too much cushion. However, I quickly became comfortable with the feeling.
The shoe wears well. After 400 miles I feel comfortable to run any distance with confidence. The shoe is pricey but worth it.

Best shoes for me. Orthotics fit nicely and feet feel great with longer distances. Highly recommend.
