My opinion bro. When you hammer on the throttle I'm hearing some fuel lag. Need to get a msd ignition system and that will prevent the fuel build-up and causes power loss. I own a 67 and a 68 mustang that I had the same problem. Also run a hotter plug too,and larger wires. Works! Make sure your carb is tuned right also! Good luck bro!

Not really stellar by today's standards. My '11 STI can do it in 4.8 in the rain.

@msiley first of all. i own a mustang gt myself. and none of the ricers around my town (including a wrx sti) can beat it. and yes that includes going around curves. second of all, my old man didn have a stock '67. he had a '72 mach 1... and it had a 351 cleveland in it and was running probably closer to around 450 horsepower atleast... now id love to see you and camelsamul(guy whos comment is just above yours) race. i think a 429 cobra jet would kick the shit of your wrx...

@wootimbored No way.... I used to race (like on a track not the street) and there is no way a stock Mustang GT would beat an STI. I've seen it over and over again. A GT couldn't beat a Stock WRX for that matter. Only Mustang that had a chance were the higher end ones like the Cobra. 0-60 for an STI and GT are about even.

I don't know about a 429 but a 428 is about 5 flat for 0-60. I bought my car based on my racing experience not on brand loyalty or nostalgia.

@msiley you sounds retarded.. the NEW GT whoops the NEW STI.. the 99 cobras with 4.10 gears and nothing else done beats a 2005 STI with a ported turbo @20PSI and full exhuast, a 2011 stang or boss 302 will totally rape.. the 2005-2010 GTs were almost as fast as the 99-01 cobras.. soo stop talking out of your ass.. and as for cornering.. the new GT will rock your STi as will any cobra from 99-04

That live rear axle does not make for the best handling car. I'm just speaking from my track experience. Maybe you're an awesome driver and can run a Mustang better than most.

@bockydo I don't forsee Electric cars comming into full swing for quite some time. Electric cars are too Impractical for now. Very low crusing distance's and Very steep MSRP's with something that isn't really tested in the real world wont make to many fans in the auto industry. They still make killer golf carts though.
