People, please go to a theater and actually 'PAY' to see this movie. If this movie gains enough profit, Disney will have no choice but to start making more traditional 2D animated canons.
Thus, The Disney Renaissance 2 have a better chance of becoming reality.
Hmm... you say the title is 'Ray Laid Low', but it sounds like Tiana singing after the party, before frog-naveen pops in, not when Ray is... well, laid low. Does she sing this afterward? Or am I just confusing myself and a ton of other people?
SEMI-SPOILERS TO ANYONE WHO HASN'T SEEN THE MOVIE.
No, she only performs the 'Almost There' reprise once, and - as you said - she sings it after finding out that someone has outbid her for the property she was going to buy for her restaurant.
@voiceofopinion If I recall from when I saw the movie a few days ago, it plays during the scene leading up to it. Sometimes Disney 'mixes' their tracks like that. For example, on 'The Lion King' soundtrack, they have a track called 'Under the Stars', but it's the music that plays before Simba and Nala's fight, when Simba chases Rafiki through the brush, and the instrumental part of the credits.
Lol, it's hard to talk about the music without giving away spoilers. XD
Well, a big problem with this soundtrack is that it keeps "hopping" from scene to scene. Toward the end of "Frog Hunters/Gator Down," we're suddenly in the Masquerade Ball scene, or "Tiana's Bad Dream" suddenly switched from Charlotte dancing to young Tiana going home to the final battle w/ the Shadowman.
My guess is that she is singing sadly about how she was so close to getting her restaurant and now that she is a frog (after meeting Naveen), that dream may never come true.
You can tell a lot of things just by listening to the music, ya know? And I haven't seen the film yet!
Ehh haaa i want a real disney prince!

In retrospect, this sounds a lot like the score Randy did at the end of Toy Story 3. to me a least.

@gmcubed Ironically, this movie came out six months before Toy Story 3 even came out.

Which number on the soundtrack is of Dr. Facilier's 'reprise' in the graveyard at the end of the film? I like the beat.
LiRzEa 2 years ago 14
me too
DarkSilverAngelMoon 2 years ago
@LiRzEa it isn't on the soundtrack. the closest you will get is riends on the Other Side, which isn't the same, but has the beat.

songs from movie scores aren't always named after the scenes they're in
rodgepodge 2 years ago
I think that the label makers and the CD burners got their song detail information mixed up.

SPOILERS, M'DEARS
Yes, so... why is this song here titled 'Ray Laid Low' when it's not where he's actually laid low? Or.. where he's even present as a character?

You can even tell about the point where she finds out (at least I think it is):
1:27 -there is a signal there. I don't know how to explain, but you can tell that something suspenseful was happening.
If I am wrong, please don't kill me.
