@GAMESJUEGOSSIERRA23 theres a program called DOSBOX that you can download that pretty much simulates what you need to run it on a windows 7 PC. All I did was click and drag the .exe file onto the DOSBOX icon and it ran without a hitch.
I used to sit on the menu just to enjoy this tune. The first-level BGM is pretty spiff, too, with that "just-starting-out" energy that every opening-level tune begs to have.
There's still a strong community, and there are still new level sets being made. If you have D2, you can run both D1 and D2 with an incredible source-port called D2X-XL which adds tons of modern graphical features. Check out darkflamewolf's channel, she's just finished uploading a walkthrough of one of the newest level sets.

@GAMESJUEGOSSIERRA23 Or you can buy this from GOG(dot)com (Good old Games) and already has dosbox installed, and it works perfectly.

Wow, that just sent chills down my spine. This is the ultimate theme for descent. Nothing compares.

I never liked Descent that much gameplaywise, but I really enjoy the music!

I think GM is using this in their Sierra commercial along with the flying robots.

Man, when I played this, I was so much younger.
This game actually scared me in the later levels, never finished it.

Now THIS is the song I remember from all those years ago. I finally got this game running on a source port, but the song is of lower quality. :(

This is probrably one of the best menu themes I've heard in a while.

I play games just to hear the menu music sometimes.

Oh man, I remember playing this on my Windows 95/Acer computer. It was killer.
Thanks for uploading this, this was one of my favorite themes from video games for a loooong long time.

The shareware version uses a slightly different tune that is also pretty great

Awesome game...I wish the series didn't die like it did. I wish more games had actual soundtracks instead of all that atmospheric stuff.

What kind of sound driver would i need to produce this music?
ZhadoxFlamez 2 years ago
It sounds like Sound Blaster... just run your Descent on DOSBox, same with setup.exe and choose Sound Blaster for your music card.

i have a difrent menu song but i like this better

I liked the Sound Blaster 16 version better I think. But it's purely sentimental value. This sounds better objectively speaking.

That is the version for OPL/FM sound cards. There is also one for wavetable cards. I prefer this one.
