  • this clip was originally produced for a machine that was installed in bars like a jukebox

  • Mom listened to Jo Stafford while hanging clothes on the line when I was a kid. I enjoyed it then and now.

  • 1940's, a great time, great music, composers, arrangers, movies and all-around culture.

Glad I was raised during this era of WW2 and thru the 40's.

    Thanks for this posting

  • Music, the likes of which we'll not hear again. GBY $-Ever, Miss Jo, & The Pied Pipers!

  • My kind of harmony. Thanks for posting. Roy

  • non-vibrato group-singing at its best

  • Such beautiful music, when singers took pride in showing what real talent was and also took pride in dressing up nicely. Today's singers like snoop dog and lady kaka need to look upto these singers as their role models and try to emulate them.

  • @calihartley2010 Totally agree with you.

But how can you call Lady Gaga & Snoop Dog singers--They Aint!

  • @music1831 Lol, my bad, they are so called singers. I am glad that there are smart people like you in this lousy world. Makes me have faith in people again.

  • I wished I lived in these days, raychapa01.

  • Ohhhh Miss Jo, what a voice you had. Sweeter than honey, timeless & 4-Ever. Wolfsky9.

  • The singer's singer--the fabulous, Miss Jo Stafford--total class, & oh, what a voice. Thank-you to You Tube, for keeping this music alive. The music of my Parents, & music I grew up to. Wolfsky9, 65 y/o

  • Top quality . Pleasant to listen to . Jo was one of the best. RIP.

  • Thank you so much for this great music and harmony, The Pied Pipers were before my time but I always love the music before my time, was so beautiful. Thank you one more time for these videos.

  • all that is missing is frank sinatra from this rendition. He sang it so beautifully with the pied pipers then redid it on his 1961 album.

  • aww there are the Pied Pipers and Jo! Thank you guys for helping me as a teenager find my way in romance...what else is there!

  • This is a treasure. Thanks for posting. Great combination with the Pied Pipers and Jo Stafford.

  • band of 'Tommy Dorsey', for which she sang both on her own and with her group, The Pied Pipers. After leaving Dorsey in 1944, Stafford went solo, eventually racking up no less than 93 hits over the next 13 years. Among them: chart-toppers like "Candy" (1945)... See full bio »
