I don't think this is about anorexia. This is about insecurity all together, including being fat. It's about selfcontrol, about feeling useless, and the feeling of 'almost dead' is when all the little things which can make you insecure cause a system breakdown in your head. And ''pulling up my shirt and staring blank ahead'' I think should be refered to as having sex for the attention but not really wanting it so pretend you're not there.

@Tawzzzzz May be you' re right but she had bulimia when she was younger, and one of the "things" of bulimia is being promiscuous and that kind of thing. And all the reason you've give live selfcontrol, feeling useless and feeling "almost dead" is what a bulimc person used to feels when they binged.

But may be you're right, I don't know, I just feel so related to this song because I'm going through recovery. Maybe that's why I can see so many similarities.

For me it does make sense. She sings about what it takes to get somewhere ("just a little bit better" etc).

Now in the video there are people who accomplish something (the girl, who could be too scared to flirt but still does it, the skater who always fails but then succeeded in the end and the little girl who rides the bike without her daddys help).

I think the video shows, that you should not think about things you want to do but do them;
