I love visisting this place every time I come to Jackson Hole. I always try to bring my fly rod and fish their. But its so damn hard. They say that the food from the smaller fish holding tanks is filtered into the small pond to fish in. I have only caught one fish ever since I started fishing their. But its a great place to visit. I rmember seing this video on the tout their. Nice vid and I really enjoy the place! Thanx!
Thanks for the compliment. The food from the raceways containing the smaller fish is supposed to be filtered by a giant drum filter before going into the pond. The water goes from the raceway to a creek into the drum filter and then into the pond. Not much food (if any) should be entering the pond even if the drum filter is being bypassed for some reason. The fish in the pond are very hard to catch. We hope to see you there again in the spring, summer, fall of 2009 when we are back!!

Working at the hatchery as volunteers is the highlight of all our travels so far. Erika and I are extremely fond of the full time workers there and we can't wait to return again in the spring of 2009.
