  • Does anybody know what movie this is?

  • @mholub86 Three Smart Girls Grow Up

  • Gosh, to just be able to bust out in song like that...

  • She kind of reminds me of Julie Andrews ,who sang better?

  • @quelita28. DEANNA with out doubt.

  • @bbcisrubbish Aye, I've never listened to Julie Andrews much, but she hasn't gone anywhere near opera

  • thanks for posting this video

  • Wish there were lyrics!!!!

  • she has the most amazing voice i have ever heard geez:]

  • she was my (maternal)grandma's favorite! RIP Mama Ti~ni~na from Marfa, TX! ~~<3

  • violinthief,do you have the lyrics to the music? thanks

  • Fantastic woman and wonderful, brilliant singer!

  • 2.44 holy cow - Deanna knows how to hit those notes!

  • She may have been born in Canada of British parents, but it is the States that made her famous! So I say hurray for the U.S.A. and Deanna! :)

  • @Celticwomanfanpiano. Only just though. I read in a biography that the charming man Harry Cohn said

"get rid of the fat one" when she was filming with Judy Garland. Since they were both chubby in their teens H. Cohn's assistant did not know which one he meant,so Deanna went. Why couldn't they have both?

  • Really nice! I love Webber's Invitation to the Waltz and Diana's beautiful soprano voice is perfect for it. Brava Diana!

  • england too should be proud;) her parentts were english

  • she was insanly popular here - they had a "Deanna Durbin Festival" in London in the 40s and it sold out every single showing! Again the time machine would b great - i would have loved to gone 2 that!

  • Canada's true princess! Brava! TY.

  • A Lass o' the Dominion of Canada

    Purity

  • How come Dianna dident make it as big as Judy?

  • Comment removed

  • Yes, she was absolutely a better singer, far easier to watch and more "real" because they didn't have her all hopped up on drugs to make her thinner.

  • does she still live?

  • Yes! Deanna is 87 on December 4, 2008.

  • Happy Birthday Deanna!

  • It's the vocal production. She studied with De Segurola who was from the Golden Age of Singing. Today's voice teachers (?) haven't the vaguest idea of what singing is all about

  • I love the words to von Weber's "Invitation to the Dance" that Deanna Durbin puts to this great waltz tune. Notice her low notes as well as her high notes. She can get right on top of the high ones (although she had to climb a bit for that last one)and into mezzo- soprano land when she has to. What a voice! What a talent! I wish she had seen fit to give her adoring public and the world more years of her delightful singing and acting. Imagine Deanna on the stage of grand opera! Great!

  • Wonderful singing..Ha it's really beautiful..

  • Deanna is so charming - and what a voice!
