Do you have a clip of Kathi with Long John singing you've lost that loving feeling, I've the video and it was magnificent, I only have a worn VCR tape of it
Great tune! Kathy is a native of Bellingham, Washington. She had a group (very good) called Kathy and the Unusuals in the mid 1960's and appeared on stage with a bia constrictor!
Is it possible my memory is true when it tells me I saw Kathi sitting on LJB's lap while they sang "Black Girl" in Moncton, N.B., perhaps in the 80's? Long John was definitely there but I am not sure it was Kathi. Those were the days!!!
Was this the same powerhouse that sang opposite LJB in "That Loving feeling"? I remember when he brought her onstage in Toronto when he opened for the Beach Boys, the crowd went daft before she sang a note. I was only about 13, so I wouldn't have known much better....
One of my all time favourite tunes - I was lucky enough to see Kathi, Long John Baldry and their great band on the follow up tour in Stuttgart. Magic!!
Kathi, Long Time Member of Leon Russell's "family" of musicians & singers since early 1970's , Back-up vocalist for old Joe Cocker & the Mad Dogs & englishmen
I saw them in Uden in "De Pul" (the Netherlands) in '93 and danced the night away. I just wonder what happened to the brothers Al (drummer) and Eric (pianist) Webster. Does anybody know, I'm just curious what happened to these talented men!
I have this CD. Unbelievable talent all around. I sure hope to be able to play that area one day as I am 20 years old playing local blues around here.
The combination of Long John and Kathi is fabulous. I am looking for a vid of their version of "You've lost that Loving Feeling". Any one out there know where to find it?
Saw and met Long John at a show in Oshawa, Ontario in 91' ..the absolutely BEST show I have EVER SEEN!...He is a GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have seen a lot of greats in my time but LJB is the best!
One of my best memories as a drunken penniless student: seeing Long John and kathi perform at Fryfogles, London <ontario. Long John towering over Kathi in the super tight spandex pants of the 80s era. Long John drank more on stage than we did watching him- bottle s everywhere and My God when they teamed up for "You've Lost that Lovin' Feeling." OMFG!!!!!!!!
Must have been the same spandex pants they used in the film clip here in oz where You've lost that lovin feelin was a big hit. Suprisingly, there is not a video on you tube of that song...
I was there too bro, what a night! I will treasure that memory for the rest of my life. Lock the doors and let er rip! just the 300 of us, quite the little hole in the wall.
I've seen Janis live and Kathi also, let me say, not taking anything away from Janis, but Kathi doesn't take a back seat to nobody, this song(video) is Kathi McDonald at the top of her game!
in the vide, i dunno, but hes dead now, he died of some sort of lung complication. Trust me, He was my grandmas Cousin. By the way, this is my Buddies Profile.
insane asylum saw hours and hours on my turntable. Kathi's version of "heatwave" was one of the great covers of the era. bogart to bowie..ah great memories, good to hear her again.
I have the Insane Asylum album still, but it is scratched all to hell. LOL I still listen to it occasionally. I don't suppose someone has a cd recording of this album.hmmmm? I've looked for years.
i came across with this song by accident and WOW!! what a voice and style; it truly blew me away. I could'nt stop listening to it. More videos like this one should be posted.
