@BornIntoMusic: 16 seconds loop. you can add as many layers as you want. but no undo function and loops can't be saved. the looper is more of an extra feature and can't compete with a real standalone hardware looper

do you get any lag betwwen patch/effect changes ? at 2.12 there sounds like a glitch [I'm think of getting the Ultra, but am a bit nervous after my G system lags like hell!]

there is indeed a very small gap between patch-switching, but next firmware should make the gap much smaller. FYI video was made with firmware 6.xx and we are now on 8.09

i noticed at 0:37 when the loop completes it's first cycle that there is a small gap between the loops. does the axe fx not quantize the loop or something?

No, ultra doesn't quantize

You don't need a mic for the loops. I just wanted to demonstrate that you can use vocoder effect (like in the beginning of the clip) with the looper, but I forgot to push the record button :)

Do you need a mic to do loops? I didn't understand what was the purpose of the mic in the input 2..what power amp do you use? is it negative to use a tube power amp while runing a loop with sci fi sounds and playing over it with a high gain lead tone?

you're buying it because it's the best piece of digital gear out there.. the couple of hundred bucks difference isn't a great deal. google axe fx wiki and read the differences.

Yes I used a cheap SM58 copy microphone hooked up to input2.

You can use the axe-fx also for vocals, but it's better that you use a preamp to get a good level input

sounds pretty cool man, it would be great if you could make a video to learn how to do all that stuff, by the way, i'm going to order mine next month but i don't know if i really need the ultra,do you really need more memory in the hard drive? and as far as i know there's just a couple extra fx on the ultra otherwise the ultra and standar are the same, right?
