McGee sticks to the text and picks up a critical clue in the change of the pronoun from "she" to "they". all other attempts to understand the passage fail to pick this up and so are most likely to be wrong.
This verse is a Prophetic verse. I believe it has to do with the Sept 29th planetary configuration in Virgo this fall as when Jesus was born. Having to do with the rapture. at least I hope that it means. Thats what the holy spirit told me anyway
20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation,[a] 21 for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God[b] spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
I think 'saved in childbirth' refers back to Genesis - when Adam because of sin had to toil the land and woman would bring forth children in pain. For those with faith - they are 'saved in childbirth' - meaning God helps them through the birthing process and delivers them. Giving birth in pain was womans punishment and it remains perilous - women die giving birth. But with faith, a woman can be SAVED in childbirth. Delivered safely.
it started with Eve , but there is none without sin. We must suffer , beacuse we are all sinners , nor will there ever be anyone who is perfect , except the intercession which God has given us which is Christ Jesus. I have thought why do we all suffer , for Adam and Eve's sins , but really we all mess up. Jesus Christ brings us back to God's holy presence , therefore only those who don't choose the get out of hell free card , (Jesus Christ / True Faith) will be punished. I choose Christ Jesus!
Thank you sir for being one of the few preachers who I've heard even attempt to explain this verse of scripture. I agree to some extent with your premise but disagree with your conclusion.
Thank you again for taking time to address this pertinent and timely topic.

why should all women have to suffer for what Eve did?
