  • Love it...

  • You guys are awesome

  • Because, really, it makes no sense. Everyone has been wronged by someone and therefor has reason for violent retribution, which gives their adversary reason for more violent retribution, on and on and on.. If everyone plays that card then, whoooph; no people!

  • You're right, it makes more sense that the just allow the unjust to trample them. Then only non aggressors will suffer. Survival of the fittest. Whoever removes the other's eye first wins.

  • If apply eye for an eye in a rape case. After a victim is raped by the rapist, the victim will rape the rapist back, and the rapist wouldn't mind about it! LOL, it just doesn't work in some case!

  • @FeelFree3.... well in the case of rape, if a man rapes a woman, then he gets ass raped with a baseball bat...

  • Haha thanks for making depth perception funny.

  • LOL. These Larry/Deity things are pretty good.

  • an eye for an eye makes monocle sales increase.

  • I think Ghandi was working for Lucy.

  • "It's an eye for an eye, not an eye for an eye for an eye."

    ROFL. Brilliant.

  • An eye for an eye means your contacts cost half as much.

  • That's funny!!!!

  • @latiasneo3 I love how sophisticated my viewers are. Does anyone else on YouTube have people watching their show who can make a Jacques Tati reference?

  • Mr Deity never fails to make me chuckle.

  • right before he then said "and bring those who oppose me before me, and stone them to death..."

  • /slaps you

  • i wanna subscribe but I'm only 13.

  • The fact that you're only thirteen, you get this humor, AND know paganini is more than enough for me. You rock, Dude! Honored to have you watching!

  • The pleasure is all mine. You know, you are the only person on youtube who regularly replies to the comments on your videos. That, in it self, proves your dedication.

  • @muffin8or But it is easy for him, being omnipotent and all.

  • @Tazwegian

ahh but he turned it off (you'd know if you followed all series) :)

  • @muffin8or I am pretty sure he only turned off his omniscience.

  • @Tazwegian

knowledge is power. Deity sans knowledge = deity sans power

  • @muffin8or You can have power without knowledge, but lets not get into a debate over a joke I made please. ;)

  • So?

  • Subscribe as in donate....

  • Oh, my bad.

  • the best channel on youtube

  • this is bull, Hammurabi of Babylon invented the "Eye for an Eye" thing

  • puts food on the table....

  • lol ok :)

  • You sir, are an idiot

  • either have something cohesive to offer to the conversation, or eat that dick quietly

  • My bad, I thought your comment was directed at the poster of these videos.

    Youtube comment system is shit.

  • And where was Abraham born? So that's where Mr. Deity started his chosen people out, and then decided it was time to leave...or something like that...

  • Abraham was born in Mesopotamia, He's probably either Sumerian, Akkadian, or Sumero-Akkadian mix since the Akkadians amalgamated with the Sumerians.

  • hahaaa best bit eveerrrrrr! ..and what an idiot, this guy purposely distorting my words hahahhhhha

  • Great vids, funny and insightful, keep up the good work

  • Lol, an eye for an eye for an eye!

  • yay!!!!!! another mr. deity short!!!! my day is now nearly perfect!!!!!!

  • If there can be a cable channel for dildos (I'm talking about actual dildos, not Fox news), why can't we have THIS show on cable? I would so watch it every week.

  • Hey! No slamming Gandhi please :-(

  • Sorry. Not a big fan. Non-violence works when your opponent is decent --- like the Brits or the Americans during the civil right movement. But telling the Jews to be non-violent against the Nazis is naive beyond comprehension.

  • your comments are as great as your shows!!! keep'em coming. So happy to see Mr.Deity back! There should be plenty of material to keep it going for a long time!!!

  • Nicely put

  • Exactly!

  • but in that situation i think he was right. non-violence is always an option.

  • Actually, no. Non-Violence would work if everyone sticked to it, but in the real world it's totally immoral and silly

For example, it means that you don't help people who are getting beaten up. Or if a weak country get's invaded by a bad country you don't intervene. The whole concept of UN/NATO etc is in opposition to Gandhi's teachings and that's a good thing.

    Let's compare these two people:

    "I'll never act violent!"

"If you attack me I'll defend myself!"

Who do you think will get beaten?

  • why would anyone beat me up? if someone needed money that i had id give it to them. i wouldnt make anyone mad because im not hostile. and who defines a "bad country?"

  • "i wouldnt make anyone mad because im not hostile"

That's a bit too optimistic. See, some people will attack you simply because you don't believe in their imaginary friend (god). And most religions are exclusive, so you can't please everybody.

Sure, non violence should be preferred, but sometimes it's better to fight for your rights.

  • i agree with that statement.

  • @misterdeity love it, why is it when i try to explain to err... peaceful people that there are times when violence is the answer, they just refuse to see it. glad i'm not the only one.

  • @stfunoob707 Because, really, it makes no sense. Everyone has been wronged by someone and therefor has reason for violent retribution, which gives their adversary reason for more violent retribution, on and on and on.. If everyone plays that card then, whoooph; no people!

  • @misterdeity Brits weren't decent either. Gandhi was one of the many other efforts that were going on to get independence. Indians did resort to violence multiple times. Infact the first war of independence was a military warfare. Bhagat singh, subhashchandra bose who are heroes, resorted to violent means.

Nonviolence is sometimes more hurtful than violence. In a company, when your demands arent fulfilled, you dont have to kill the CEO, all you have to do is not work.

  • @DudeFromHaverhill He wasn't making fun of Gandhi, he was making fun of a god who would be opposed to his high idealism.

  • Gandhi's foolish teachings have left India an impoverished and corrupt nation for decades. The number of people who have died of malnutrition and disease by following his teachings are an abomination.

  • lol...

  • he's too clever to end up on tv

  • Your show is pure quality, Brian. It'd be a pretty crappy day indeed if such hilarious awesomeness didn't land a spot on tv. I'll let you know if I get a reply from Comedy Central for my email, or if I was ignored for being one of the little people.

  • When looking at the Tags for this video, the first thing that popped into my mind when I saw "IMAX 3D" there was: "Now children, which of these do not belong with the other?"

  • so, after taking one eye, and fairly losing one, i should take a tooth, right?

  • Have you guys been approached to do something other than a YouTube show yet? This is too good to remain solely on YouTube.

  • Hey there TheAmazingJordo: Good idea. But, ahem; been-there-done-that... just google "Congrats Mr Deity Crew". We, the faithful, however, expect more big news.

  • I know, huh! We've only been approached by Sony. And they failed to take it where they said they would (television). My manager has approached everyone, and the problem is, even the people who love it are scared to death. It's an irreverent look at God and the Universe in America. Apparently, that's really, really scary stuff.

  • I'm surprised with all the stuff on Comedy Central. Southpark mocks religion all the time.

  • Maybe we should start a write-in campaign to Comedy Central.

  • I just sent them an e-mail telling them I would like to see a Mr. Deity show on Comedy Central. Gave them the web address. I would send a letter too if that would help.

  • Maybe Adult Swim?

I could see this as more of a 15 minute show than a 30 one.

  • It really is a sad thought that most companies are scared to put anything that just may be offensive to someone's God. Yet, movies like Bruno come out and all it is is shock comedy that makes hundreds of millions of dollars. It's amazing how ridiculous people get over such silly topics. I wouldn't worry though I'm sure some company will get the testicular fortitude to pick your show up it's only a matter of time, just keep up the good work.

  • Thanks for the kind words. This is very encouraging.

  • "My manager has approached everyone, and the problem is, even the people who love it are scared to death." And that's why your videos would be extremely popular on TV.

  • My speech is titled "It cannot be reasoned with", which articulates my core beliefs about the importance of reason, and the dangers of ANYTHING that gets in the way of people being reasonable (religion, ideology, politics, spiritualism, mysticism, psuedoscience, Feng Shui, etc...). I believe we're also doing a Q&A with Mr. Deity himself (if I can get him to show up --- he'd rather be in Manhattan).

  • Will there be a video available of this speech? I would really be interested in hearing your speech.

  • I hope so. I'll let you know when I find out.

  • You sound like a Bright!

I always thought you're a more laid-back atheist, so it was rather surprising to see you as a speaker.

I'll do my best to be there, but right now it seems like too damn expensive for me, sadly.

  • NEVER call me a bright! I hate that term. It's so awful! Hope to see you there.

  • It is indeed rather condescending, but they're the only group of atheists that I know of to define themselves as purely naturalistic.

  • Thank you. Keep up the good work. It can't be reasoned with, but it can be mocked. You are doing important work -- and give me a big laugh every time. I (as many others) appreciate it! -- mac

  • This is off-topic, but I'm curios what, exactly, you're going to talk about at AAIC 09? I figured you'd be at the comedy show, but they have you listed as a speaker instead.

  • Lazy Eye for an Eye Productions..?

  • LOLOLOL

Never seizes to bring a huge smile to my face!

  • or ceases...

  • yeah, that too

  • Did you spell his name wrong? Shouldn't it be "Gandhi" ? :-)

  • You're right! And I even checked with Amy. I can't trust her as far as I can throw her. We're both terrible spellers. Sorry.

  • "An eye for an eye" may seem barbaric, but at least it's proportionally fair. Compare that to humble Jesus, meek and mild, who will eternally torture you for finite transgressions.

  • Actually, no. It doesn't seem barbaric. It's a perfect statement of justice, and for the time I think it's actually ahead of its time considering that so many at that time were meeting out justice disproportionately --- I take your eye and you wipe out my entire family. I really do hate Ghandi's line, and I'm not particularly impressed with Ghandi in general. In some ways, he was a moral fool.

  • P.S.: I believe I set the record here for the number of uses of the word "time" in a single sentence.

  • Ghandi *was* a jerkoff.

  • Get PZ. Oh my deity I would seriously break down crying in happiness

  • I lol'

  • FUNNY!

  • wooo get PZ!

  • I think it would be fun if you guys got PZ Meyers on for an episode. Besides being one of the more prominent "new atheists", he's a fan.

  • I'd love to have PZ on. I'll have to ask him -- we're in touch.

  • dude if you guys got PZ on here it would be the best moment of my life. Should I go nag him to do it?

  • Last week or 2 I started up a subscription to the show. I hope you guys are getting a decent start on the donations.

Have you guys tried to see if you could get Sony to release a bit for 50 cents on the Sony video store? (Probably won't happen I've only seen 2 dollars for stuff on there but it would be good to get them away form that pricing model for stuff like Robot Chicken)

I think you could also try making all the episodes in a season 1 large file and then charge 2 dollars a season then.

  • Hah, awesome

You guys are getting posted everywhere. From Richard Dawkins site, to Pharyngula.

  • That's not exactly a wide spectrum of the internet...

  • They both have a pretty large reader base, so its not exactly small either...

  • Don't forget the now official unofficial Mr.Deity Fan Blog!

C&P in address bar -> mrdeityfan blogspot com

  • Hey LawnBoy75 and IdleGod...

Not to mention Penn Jillette's Tweet about "Mr Deity" just today

    "pennjillette 9:47 PM Jul 8th"

  • Worst case scenario, no depth perception... lulz...

  • Maybe you should have called the company A Lazy Eye for A Lazy Eye Productions?

  • There's a lot of that "a tooth for a tooth" business going on in Alabama.

  • Heh

  • lol @ the 3D part

  • You know when I saw the trailer for the interviews I was thinking "OH WOW DRAMA" but I feel kind of silly now realising it was a spoof.

  • Sorry. But seriously, how could you think I'd be involved in anything serious? C'mon!

  • Ironically, Sean and I are just sitting here talking about shooting the pilot for a Half-Hour, one-camera dramady called "Estranged" about a marriage and family councilor who comes home to find his wife has just left him. So, perhaps I shouldn't have chastised you.

  • I can dream! ;_;

  • good one!

you guys should have your won tv show by now!

a 15min episode, just with another short show like robot chicken.....

    a hit for sure!

    ;d

  • hilarious!

  • GREAT :P :) !!!
