  • Man, I'm a big fan of S.K. and the Dark Tower series. It changed my life. But cut the crap... the picture of the gunslinger was there a long before the history of The Dark Tower. C'mon, S.K. didn't invented the term.

A lot of good movies use that word. People love to say shit just to get some thumbs up.

Go outside. Before start to talk like some kind of S.K's gunslinger, start acting like a man and learn to enjoy a good movie like this one.

  • u fucken rip off ka will see u pay for this blaspheme

  • Music from a few dollars more and once upon a time in the west, nice.

  • it's hilarious how many people just can't read a simple video description...yknow it takes way longer to sit and type angry comments than to read a few lines of description, lol

  • Like seriously..... this guy took to long to realize he wasnt making the movie right

  • Did anyone watch this NOT thinking it was the Dark Tower?

  • lol @ trollslingers

  • Thanks for putting the annotation haha, I would have gotten halfway through it and been like "This isnt what im looking for :/ "

  • music came out of 'kill bill'.. isnt that .. illegal or immoral?

  • You have forgotten the face of your father.

  • thx for the warning at the beginnig. i really looked fot the dark tower.

But ure movie is really good.... maybe just because of the Music ;) but how cares?

  • this isn't the real gunslinger.... very deceptive... i dont appreciate it....

  • I won't lie... like most I came here looking for an interpretation of the Dark Tower. Regardless, your video was incredibly well done and even though it wasn't what I was looking for, it was a pleasure to watch.

  • roland of gilead is way cooler than this

  • you should add to your description that its nothing to do with the stephen king dark tower to stop all us dk freaks moaning lol, good clip though well done.

  • change your title, Gunslinger title is reserved for the line of Eld

  • @awiseguy86 Dude.... seriously?

  • @Hilhorsty

    Yes. Seriously.

  • @Hilhorsty Seriously.

  • @Hilhorsty dude.... I'm being serial

  • @Hilhorsty No, I gotta agree. The dude's right. Your gunslinger looks nothing like Roland Deschain of Gilead. You need to work on that Brohan. Nobody's going to watch your Dark Tower tribute like this.

  • @mlasnek are you a fucking dumbass. he even says in the description that it has nothing to do with the dark tower.

  • @Hilhorsty@Hilhorsty No, I gotta agree. The dude's right. Your gunslinger looks nothing like Roland Deschain of Gilead. You need to work on that Brohan. Nobody's going to watch your Dark Tower tribute like this.

  • @Hilhorsty yes seriously you fool you will be Sent West.

  • oh man i was just messin around i know it had nothing to do with the dark tower this is actually pretty cool. good work, lets see some more.

  • I'll be honest, searching for the Tower brought me here. But, I love this. Very well done!

  • this is stephen kings darktower right? cuz it doesnt resemble the books, this is awful... didnt he read the books?

  • @arockfosheezy NOTHING TO DO WITH STEPHEN KING

  • dialog is a little too quiet

  • Black in a desert is unbelievably uncool. Black attracts heat, as most of us know. I accept that Randall Flagg/Marten Broadcloak may have magic so that he can look and stay cool, but other characters would bake during the day and lose their heat quickly at night.

  • I definitely like it. Very interesting. Cute actors too.

  • OMG thay killd both of them? :_: .. who is going to kill the bad guy for revenge? D: -crys-

  • They use each others' names too much and she says, "My mother gave this to me before she died." Can her mother giving something when she's dead? Who wrote the script? Great filming though.

  • Comment removed

  • @Vulfi93 I don't think the point of saying "my mother gave this to me before she died" is to let you know whether the mother gave it before or after death. The phrase is supposed to let you know that the object has sentimental meaning as her mother gave it to her, has now died and can not give her anything else.

  • Well I meant that in fiction conversations still have to be realistic. He likely knows that her mother is dead and she could have sighed and maybe cracked her voice a bit and said, "And she's dead." But it doesn't matter.

  • This is crap

  • The man in black came across the desert, and the gunslinger followed - are you sure it really has nothing to do with stephen king's book? it's somehow a dejavu, just the feeling of...

  • Well, lots of people wear black, and lots of westerns occur in deserts.

  • un pò troppo alla sergio leone direi

  • fraud

  • that doesn't even make sense

  • I like it good job you have talent I wish you the best

    Powers Johnson

  • the actors suck

  • the music was to loud I couldn't hear some of the dialogue, and it was weird not hearing any of the nature sounds when they were talking. His footsteps were to loud...so pretty much the only problem I had with it was to sound, that and the end was melodramatic. If she's dead where's the blood?

  • i really liked the first part of your movie. you are a very talented filmmaker. im looking to attend the new york film academy at universal studios. i have only made one movies so far at the academy but im looking to make more

  • Well done. Very

  • not a bad way to pay homage to sergio leone and his classic once upon a time in the west. good job.

anywho, why didn't johnny tell his girl to run inside or cover her completely. man that dude is so unthoughtful.

and to user 087HHM, the music wasn't stolen from the good the bad and the ugly series. hence the fact that sergio directed once upon a time and the good/bad/ugly series. and all the music was done by ennio morricone. which every film had different scores.

  • I'm glad you posted such a dumb video so we could all talk about the dark tower. Say thank ya big big. Long days and pleasant nights. R.I.P Susan Delgado!

  • pff...It is brilliant...even missing that fight, the work is excellent.

  • SO disappointed by the dark tower ? you must have been a huge fan before you finished it....

  • holy shit! its angel eyes!

  • The Dark Tower is most likely going to be a tv miniseries, work will NOT begin until after Lost is done (2010). And if they don't change the ending, there's no point in making the damn thing anyway, as it's a complete waste of his finest book, the kinda ending that makes you feel really stupid for reading

  • I'd disagree, I think the ending to the dark tower is the only ending he's done which doesnt fall short from the story. A lot of his books are amazing until the ending which always seems a bit contrived (that's my opinion anyway, not saying i could do any better), b ut I think the ending to the 7th book is the only ending there could be, if he ended up being the ruler of the entire universe or something like that the ending would be pretty weak

  • I agree

  • There could be no other ending. Stephen King is a master of his art.

  • It's a classical ending, really, classical King. If it all ended, really ended, like HP, we'd be pissed off. I don't know about you, but I read HP and thought: Gee, that was fuckin stupid. But the Dark Tower had an ending that makes you wonder: round and round it goes, where it stops, nobody knows- so where does the wheel of Ka stop???

  • And keep in mind also that the book is meant to mirror Browning poem "Childe Roland to the Dark Tower Came." In that context, the work is brilliant.

  • I actually have yet to read that poem, but I'll take your word for it :)

  • I agree. Also, he said before you read the ending, that the main idea is not about the end of the journey but the journey itself. Everyone was so quick to get to the end, they forgot to enjoy the adventure on the way, so to speak.

  • Ah, golden! Yeah, I had to read it a few times to get it down, but I agree: we all get that way, kind of sucked up into wanting to finish it already, and we forget to enjoy it.

  • Fuck! That "end" is perfect for such a brilliant work!!!

  • Where did you get the set and costumes?

  • Stephen King confirmed there would be a Dark Tower movie. Believe it or not he sold the rights for less then 20 to the guys that do Lost. He thinks their the best people to bring the series to the screen

  • he sold it for 19 dollars ( haha get it)

  • Just to clarify: THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH STEPHEN KING'S THE DARK TOWER. I know everyone's scouring Youtube, looking for a trailer for the movie based on the books that's never actually coming out, but believe me, it doesn't exist and this short film is in no way related to it. So stop getting all pissy and shitting all over some kid's student film that he made when he was 16 just because none of the characters are named Roland.

  • JJ Abrams bought the rights to do the movie.

  • Yeah, but I heard it's in development hell. It would be sweet if JJ made it though. A TV series/ mini series would probably be better

  • @Hilhorsty At this point J.J. Abrams lost his rights to the movie, now Ron Howard is doing it, and it sounds like he's being aggressive about getting it done too.

  • hahahaha ...looks better than most SK(fake) gunslinger trailers...and the lead could play roland (with contacts of course)

  • LOL this reminds me more of For a Few Dollars More. Mainly cause of the music but it has a similar-ish plot with the whole jukebox and murder thing. Still. Cant wait for the ACTUAL movie/tv show for the book. Loved em.

  • I dont mean to diss but the acting is horrid

  • ironwolg, what can i say, bobby's right ur a fucking tard

  • Not good. Sorry.

    Next!...

  • That really needs some work, (esp. sound) your last gun shot SFX sounds like an old Doom midi. For the production level of the set and costumes I'd like to see better acting, story and sound. And don't rip your music off of what your emulating it just comes off poor at best. Have that "ironwolg" do you an new sound track for the music.

Other then that it does look really nice, the DOP did a knock out job.

  • if you ever want to do another gunslinger video i can write and record some music for it. i've got kind of a progressive western movie metal kinda thing goin, it seems to work for the gunslinger

  • thanks, i'll keep that it mind

  • "progressive western movie metal kinda thing" ? i can only assume that you have down's syndrome as that is the most retarded thing i have ever heard

  • no, i just have an open mind. you can mix all types of music and make it sound good, you just have to know how to do it

  • roland's hand would never shake like that.

    long days pleasant nights

  • I only watched a little bit...i don't think it's really related to the Dark Tower series...AT ALL...it just doesn't fit it.

  • what music did you use for the opening scenes?

  • Enjoyable and fun - that's what film -making should be about. Love the imagery and yes the music just works so very well!

  • OMG you totally ripped* I mean sampled :) the music from some of the greatest western ever. honestly it sucks as a film ok as a commercial(jack in the box could have jumped in and sold me some type of spaghetti western burger) but hey what got me excited was to see THee Gunslinger, this is like throwing me half a cookie when I can see the rest tucked under your arm...got any more??

  • It was nice. But if this is all you've got, young London filmmakers will kick your ass. :D

  • oh no, i'm shaking in my boots. whatever will americans do if the brits are making such spectacular films? maybe we should just quit and let the market be saturated by hundreds of "notting hills!!!"

  • I don't consider Notting Hill spectacular. Why don't you mention Guy Ritchie films? There's great trully British cinema. And I wasn't exactly talking about cinema but the quality of teaching and the quality of work students produce. This work is not refined. There are hundreds of things which could have been better. I would expect more from a final year work, that's all. But maybe my expectations are too high... BTW I am Russian just studying in London.

  • i was just kidding. lock stock and snatch are sweet. obviously british movies rock (the name hitchcock comes to mind). i made this when i was 17, so there's definitely a lot of room for improvement.

  • most brit cinema s shite, and im from the UK. unless you want notting hill, youre stuck with crappy british london based gangster films. and guy ritchie only made 2 good films, and they might as well have been spliced together to make one, as they were both the same kinda thing, just different names of characters, in slightly different settings. i enjoyed them both, but only as they were funny. 99% of british cinema is awful. calender girls? full monty? 4 weddings? all tripe, in my opinion

  • Try Shane Meadows. Dead Man's Shoes, This Is England, A Room For Romeo Brass.

Sunshine, Trainspotting (Though I don't like it) The Third Man, Where Eagles Dare.

All of these are classics. Britain has some brilliant cinema if you're prepared to look for it, not just to watch what's on at the odeon.

  • oh, youre right. i should have made clear that i meant british cinema of today is rubbish. and none of the films you listed are that good, apart from where eagles dare. this is england and trainspotting are just classic examples of gloryfing typical british hooliganism and violence. but in todays britian there isnt much else to make a film about is there?

  • 28 days later

Not to mention british filmakers...Danny Boyle, Paul GreenGrass, The Scotts brother, Ritchie, Madden, Sam Mendez...

  • LOL! no offence but that was funny. Keep the good work up.

  • Very good only one thing. Peoples eye's don't genrealy close after they get shot like your ladys did. It makes it seem more real if her eyes where still open.

  • loplololololoolololol

  • The actress is hot.

  • I like the dubbing. It is subtle, but not overstated.

My only critique is during the gunshots that they be louder.

Firearms are very loud and make your ears ring.

  • i agree, but the new york film academy didn't have a very large sound library. these were all the gunshots they had.

  • You could've layered them like they do in movies like The Terminator. That was like 12 gunshots melged together

  • good use of camera angles on that. loved the mysterious harmonica effect when he stopped playing. sounded like an echo until the back beat came on.

and yes the dark tower rocks. just up to wolves of the calla :D

    long days and plesant nights

  • no, thedark tower is AWESOME!!!!!!

  • apollo440 - man with the harmonica - ??

  • damn i thought this was going to be like the steven king novel...

  • if only. the dark tower is awesome.

  • Ma che porcata !

  • I recognize the music from Good Bad and the Ugly.

  • Your dubbing is far too slick for a Spaghetti Western... check out ours - it's terrible!

  • hottie couldn't act her way outta' a paper bag.

  • you thought wrong

  • Hahahaha OWNED

  • I would think that film school would have made you a better filmmaker.

  • I might the first to not like it. Just me though.

  • You Know? I think you are correct about the harmonica. (My Mistake). As far as liking this clip...I "LIKE" all westerns. (Think I was born in the wrong era or something). Of course, I would have been a professional gun slingger. - LOL

  • I don't like all Westerns. They are too dramatic and uninteresting. You know, I think I' am in the wrong era as well. I would be a half-breed Indian Mountainman that fought against the North.

  • To an extent I'd have to agree, but I still love them.

  • I'm talking about the new Westerns of today.

  • As if it was so easy to become one. (: Well who knows. Perhaps you would be ,Jim.

  • I' am your Pallbearer.

  • Please allow me to correct myself. The music was from the movie "A Few Dollars More" NOT the movie "The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly".

  • The man playing the Harmonica was in Once Upon A Time In The West, where Charles Bronsons character plays the Harmonica. All the music were all done by Ennio Morricone.

  • The tune from the music box, and the harmonica are both stolen from the movie "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly". Great film otherwise; you would thing the music could have been original.

  • I, like you, am in love with Spahgetti Westerns and have been wanting to make a western movie with my friends (not of this high caliber, I don't have the resources) Good job!!!

  • that was awesome! Great job you should be proud of yourself!Going straight to my favourites =]

  • I love this movie...I am saving up to attend the Producers course at New York because I want to be a producer in Hollywood. Do you think the NYFA will help me do this and how have you progressed since attending?

  • pedestrian at best
