    i was brought up orally.

i really am glad my mom didn't stop me from learning sign language when my deaf sister came home with some signs.

when i had my daughter, i made sure that i signed to her. i'm proud to have her as a CODA!

i must admit that being brought up orally, i have the best of both worlds and i wouldn't change it for the world!

  • whoa wait so you both are deaf? i thought coda was "child of deaf adult".. im confused.

  • They're both coda's. They were pretending to be D/deaf to illustrate a point.

  • They play two deaf persons here, one using only ASL and one being brought up mainly orally, just to show the conflicts. yes, they are both codas.

  • I'm a CODA too and loved this video! AGBell's oral imitation was perfect and so hilarious that I laughed until I had tears running down my face. Keep up the good work!

  • I'm hearing and I have a lot of deaf friends. I notice that my deaf friends who grew up with ASL that can talk, thier speech is a lot more natural than deaf people I've met who don't know ASL.

  • Hey Ben! I could tell that you tried not to laughed at your brother when he show his T-shirt " A.G.Bell " and nerd eyeglasses on, but you still laughed it... I could not hold my bathroom when I laughed, sigh, already yellow on my underwear, a little... but still, I love you both! Your "meds" made us laugh!

  • My signing is very bad because I can not really use my right hand, but I have 'profound' hearing loss. But the CODA brothers crack me up. XD

  • Good Lord !

Bring tears to my eyes !

    Are you really hearing ?

I agree with you, this video is best funny ever.

  • haha funny!!!

  • LOL! Yea, ASL rocks the best in world! Glad to see you coming back and want to see more of you later on. 8^)

  • i love it :), you're videos are the best!

i had a question that maybe you can answer.

I take ASL classes at my high school in Tx and we have two teachers, both are hearing. We only have ASL 1-3 and we as a group of students really didnt want to go through our senior year without an ASL class so we decided to ask the administration for an ASL 4 or intro to interpreting, or Deaf Culture class, but they told us that our teacher couldn't teach ASL 4 because she wasn't deaf...is that true??

  • well, im 13 years old...

and im sure that person who wants 2 teach asl 4 not must be deaf, im sure.

  • TOO FUNNY!

  • LOL CHAMPS!
