Frankly I don't see why this video is garnering such controversy. Of the Douze Notations, the seventh perhaps has the closest relation to tonality of the twelve (though it is not tonal in its construction)...

You can call this music "famous shit', as opposed to non-famous shit. Unfathomable that someone like Boulez could ever be highly regarded as a composer. It's ugly, non-melodic, stupid junk. Makes me enraged to think that he gets any accolades for writing that kind of garbage when there are real serious composers who can't get any recognition for their craft. Boulez is an insult to all of musical humanity. May his music rot away ASAP!

this kind of a response to the music you are referring to, which is (i assume) more melodic sounding, has a steady beat, and is absolutely beautiful. boulez may have heard this and appreciated it but wanted to do something different. you can only do something different when you understand something normal. please dont disrespect someone for doing something different.

Peut-être, mais qui es-tu pour juger la musique? Le professeur de piano de Tcahikovsky voyait en lui un avenir musical médiocre, pourtant... Si tu n'es pas assez ouverte d'esprit pour écouter de la musique, ne l'écoute pas ou du moins de la critique pas.

Pour moi Boulez est une grosse merde, pour une simple et bonne raison. Celui-ci dit (en gros) que la musique improvisé est la mort de la musique et n'est pas un art ... Alors quand on sait que dans beaucoup de ces oeuvres il y une part "d'improvisation" en laissant le libre choix à l'interprète de jouer ou non certaines parties d'une oeuvre...

Alors dis-moi qui est-il pour juger un art premier ?
