  • Bryder mig ikke om den form for agogik, der praktiseres.

  • I love her stance, her attack, her dominance of the violin. She tells her violin, "You will do this," and it seems her violin delivers.

  • Her performance sits proudly among the all-time greats in every aspect.

  • She's very lucky to still be alive, and to have her hands. It could have taken her hands instead of her legs.

  • If I have a violin. And you have a violin. And I have a bow, there it is, that's a bow. Are you watching? And my bow reaches acrooooooooss the room, and starts to play your violin, I PLAY YOUR VIOLIN!!! I PLAY IT UP!!!

  • I need to get my hands on this recording! I bet sitting comes in handy in the 6 minute orchestra intro of the first mvmt.

  • Love your dress!!!!!!

  • Excellent!!! Ms Barton Pine when will you return to San Juan? You have a huge crowd of fans here!!!

  • how can u play this suypremely difficult work sitting down.and you an hear her so many violinists get the notes lost in this big orchestra piece.Violin must fight a lot.How does she get heard sitting down inthis ferocious music!

  • standing up or sitting down has no affect on a soloists tone/volume. cellists sit down when they play.

  • Yes. And Itzhak Perlman is always sit when he plays (he has polio when he was four) and he is the best violinis in the world.

  • Wiki her and you'll know why she sits down.

  • @kevalenoxx couldn t you just answer you arrogant thing?

  • @milstein91 My comment is 2 years old. I'll answer your question in 2 more years.

  • @lovesGenet Rachel had a train accident in Chicago that severed one of her legs and mangled the other. That's why she performs sat down.

  • @lovesGenet She was in a train wreck and her legs got severed and mangled.

  • I'm finished.

  • I'm finished.

  • Hi! ^^, do someone knows where can i get the song?

  • Love Love Love You Rachel! I won a recording of the Brahms by her years ago from our local classical Radio station . It remains a favorite in my collection! Brava

  • Hi, U have so much heart.

  • A knock-out performance. Note perfect, incredibly poised. Brava!

  • i love her in her dress wise wise too..she never tends to dress so sexy like other females by wearing strapless , spagetti straps bla bla where you cleaveches can be seen...

  • Well said. In concerts the music is the most important thing.

  • Impressive! Brava!

  • i think her interpretation is the best coz she studied with some dude who was a student of stusent of Joseph Joachim who was a close friend and collaborator of Brajms...

  • Is she SITTING?

  • Well yes, of course she is. See Wikipedia, for instance: this amazing artist has overcome devastating injuries to continue blessing the world with music. What an inspiration!! Rachel, THANKS!!!

  • OHHHHHH *shuts up*

  • justice for brahms was made.

  • Beautifully done!!! My compliments!

  • Just wondered too if the dress was a "period piece" designed to have suited the time Brahms was living? In any case it is lovely

  • !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Bravissimo! Defying all odds! I wish I could play the violin as well as she does.

  • it sounds really good

  • maybe what the composer wanted isn't always what the artist wants... after all it's s/he that is connecting to the audience... tchaikovsky vc has so many different interpretations and there are people all over the world who loves different individual artists for their style and artistry

  • Rachel~ I love your Brahms! it's great~ I studied with Mrs. Vamos for 5 yrs in Oberlin . I remember when you played 24 paganini caprices at Oberlin. do you have your 1st and 2nd mov. video too? if you do, u should post it!!!

  • Goodness, one of my favorite concertos from one of my favorite violinists!! The "Brahms" Guarnerius doing the Brahms concerto; how delightful!! :D

  • Rachel is one of the absolute best violinists alive! She is not afraid to attack the music if that's what's needed, and she can play so tenderly it makes you cry. The audio quality of this video could be better, but Rachel is absolutely incredible!

  • If Johannes Brahms would be alive today, he would probably tell Rachel Pine, "This is EXACTLY the manner in which I intended this concerto to be played, you have done it great justice, Rachel!" Her intonation, dynamics, bow control, crescendos, arpeggios---everything--was played just right!! This is an AWESOME performance!! I hope that I can play the violin as well as her one day, with many hours of practice!

  • Brahms was by no means a spazz (i.e. this performance was on speed), and don't go pretending you're even related to one of the big B's. Don't quote Brahms; he's been dead for a long time (don't even make believe)!

  • Jko, that was quite uncalled for.

  • ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL.

    :D

    YOU DID THIS CONCERTO JUSTICE.

    thank you for posting this!

  • Great orchestra, love the tempo, I like this, reminds me of Menuhin with that exuberance and humanity, with chops galore...there's a tremendous clarity here. Wonderful.

  • Spectacular as usual!!! Rachel is simply the BEST!
