  • thank you!!!!

  • I tryed it and it worked, thanks missionlacrossemen, groovy!

  • Great, i managed to get the bottle neck off but in process of sanding i managed to make my hand look like on of jesus's.... not happy...must consult legal man.. :(

  • Good job - now all you need is a light.

  • Thank you very much :) I had an accident and i lost my finger u.u

  • By the way, when you do this, find some other method of securing the bottle. Look how hard he presses down on the bottle with his left hand. If he glass got stressed and shattered his left hand would be going right in the bottle. Use your brain folks.

  • sounds like donald duck!

  • Nice vid. though a while back they invented something... whats it called... light?

  • I feel like you are going to cut yourself! BE CAREFUL lol xD.

  • it works great but don't use a cheap ass junior hacksaw, took me an hour and three blades FML. oh well was fun and i sure am proud of my new slide.

    thanks!

  • very dual blade

  • I didnt have a hacksaw but after watching this vid I used a file to score all the way around. Hope I didnt breathe in glass dust. I had an extra long neck. Thus I scored all the way round twice for two slides.

Thescoring all around makes for a nice even break.

  • thnx man!

  • It sounds like you need a new blade for that saw.

  • Instead of using a saw try a hand glass cutter. Score around the bottle and tap the inside. If the score is deep it will break off evenly.

  • maybe dont stand in the light next time dude. but good info if i ever loose me slide.

  • thx works great, although i used a dremel cause im lazy and dindt want to mess up my saw blade.

i made a score all the way around,1 litle tap and it came of very clean.

  • from what i have heard all the glass dust goes into the dremel and it will eventually destroy the motor as i have a dremel but i rely on it so much to risk ruining it

  • i have a cheap version of a dremel, and its stil working after a couple of years of abuse.

and when a maybe the score(more a scratch then a score really)i dindt saw that much dust.

  • @missionlacrosseman just use a Dremel 225-01 Flex Shaft Attachment.

  • why cant you use a sparkling apple juice bottle?

  • because you wan't a bottle that goes into a straight neck not one that doesn't flow

  • can i use an absolut vodka bottle

  • you could but i wouldn't use it if it had a screw on cap.

  • Thank you. I'd been trying all sorts of crazy (and probably dangerous) methods. Great stuff!!

  • way to go hahaha i was just about to smash a bottle against my sink and hope for the better but then decided to consult the wise youtube yeah thanx for posting this up there aint much others !!! i was pissing meself when u were at it with the hack saw hahaha HI5

  • i had the hacksaw and didn't wan't to spend the money for a glass cutter

  • the blade i use is from south africa it is my dads they are 25 years old the company that makes them is called sandvik the are very reliable

  • @missionlacrosseman Sandvik makes the best cabinet scraper. Mine cuts faster than 40 grit and smoother than 1500 if freshly honed and burnished.

You can get hacksaw blades with tungsten carbide grit instead of teeth. These are 100x harder than glass, and aggressive enough to saw right through the neck without having to snap it.

  • You just make a score about an inch long - you don't actually have to cut all the way around?

  • yah i had gotten frustrated because i didn't have a glass cutter so i just wacked it on the table a presto it broke. my dad says that if you wrap the heat element from a toaster around the bottle andturn it on the heat will cut the bottle

  • yeah this way works really well. just 4-5 minutes of hacksawing a line across one side of the neck and then light taping. its pretty surprising actually compared to all the other ridiculous methods described on youtube.

  • THANK YOU! The only videos i was finding were people describing how they did it and none of their slides had a smooth surface at the end. Very helpful. 5 stars.

  • Very informative. This is the same method I use. Simple and easy.

  • i figured this way out by a total accident i was going to go all the way around the bottle with the saw but it took to long so i left it i came back the next day and hit the bottle on the table and the neck broke off with out a problem easy

  • Thank you for posting this video. Many people ask me about this information.

  • no problem i actually posted it because noone had a vid on someone actually making a slide but they just explained how to make one so i thought i should show how i made my slides

  • i just wanted to show people how i made mine instead of just explaining how to make one like the other vids
