You all are right on point! Show No Mercy is an EXCELLENT record. And so is Hell Awaits and Haunting the Chapel. Why is it people only stick with what is considered "essential" such as Reign in Blood; good album, yes, but the best? Haha, I think not. All the kiddies know modern Slayer and then Reign in Blood...sickening, yes.

I used to have a double vinyl boot of 1985 rehearsals and a side of Live Undead stuff, and it was obviously the tracks from the official record but there were vocals missing. The audience was a bunch of radio contest winners, who knows if they added extra crowd noise.

Tom has always been a loyal Christian/Catholic. The band did this in order to get attention. No one had ever done it and it was their way to success. Early days they would go 4 different directions when they finished a gig. Most of the songs are written by Hanneman anyways.
