HDR didn't split the player base, SFIV did. The ST players left for a bit to play HDR when it was new, but they are all back on GGPO now. ST is what they were used to, so ST is what they will play. Likewise HDR introduced a bunch of new players who wouldn't have got into it otherwise (who now also play ST). On the whole the changes were good, helped even up the matchups and reduced the mindlessness of some tactics (eg repeated walldives, ochio loops, Dictator being owned by ticks
I'm with you on the graphics and presentation though. I do prefer ST. Only real change that sticks out as dumb for me is Ryu's fake fireball (unneeded). Despite what people think of Sirlin, the goal was to buff the lower characters and nerf the higher ones, while keeping the general tiers intact, and I think he managed it. HDR is like a gateway. It doesn't really interest the ST crowd, but it brings in new players who have built up the skills to now play ST when they like.

Oh my gawd! Lets argue about which version is better on consoles that are essentially the same thing!!! That matters soooo much, doesn't it? Gotta justify whatever system you purchased I suppose.
I don't own a modern system. I practiced on OG SFII Turbo on my NES. It feels the same as these PS3 versions and whatnot. People are tarded. Computer is a computer. Game is a game. Code is code.
Theres on positive to this speed difference. net play. When youre on the net there is always a bit of a delay that slows the game down. This speed increase may actually make the netplay game more official. If anyone has ever played the XBL version of Turbo... ugh you know what i mean about lag.
man this game is like the older version with better graphics, i wont buy this game but i will rent it, i feel capcom is loosing their spark, why cant they make a good street fighter sequel? the technology is there.
There was a beta available when u downloaded commando 3 on xbla, you can still play it but u cant d/l it anymore. Alot of people are just, if not more, excited about this game then sf4. Im hype for both :D
This video was made, strictly for capcom. They already have this video. Street fighter 2 turbo: hyper fighting had no speed select in the arcade. And even then, it was NOT this fast. This is even faster than arcade super turbo at fastest setting, and thats FAST! The next slowest speed in the beta is world warrior speed, which is way too slow.
touche'. After this I went home last night through in a my old Street Fighter Games and then played the beta and yes it's way to fast. Definitly the World Warrior speed is punishably slow.
HD remix- completely uneeded, split the player base, has some retarded changes, graphics are worse, total waste of time. david sirlin is an asshole

USA always makes modifications on the games, they should leave the games like they were originally created. Whats the point of their changes???
For Example:
1) The names of Bison, Balrog and Vega were changed in the american version.
2) Gouki, Nash, Bulleta, Aulbath, Rockman,Lei Lei , etc... were changed for Akuma, Charlie, B.B.Hood, Rikuo, Megaman, HsienKo.
3) The original name of the game resident evil its BIOHAZARD.
What a mess!!

Why does the remix bob so much when people jump? It's distracting as hell.

What else is new? Americans fcuk up another import again. Why do they always feel like they have to tweak or what they calledl "improve" the games?
FallingCharlie 2 years ago
strange it also effects the time? at first you were only a nano second behind on the arcade machine then eventually upto 2 seconds...

Seeing as how this video was added a while ago, I'm really interested to see how HDR's default speed stacks up now

This video of the beta caused Backbone and Capcom to fix the issue, it's fine now.

Street Fighter 4?
Nightvoomer 3 years ago
You can't rent this game, it's an Xbox Arcade title. They might have a demo.
There's this little game called Street Fighter IV, you may have heard of it, I think that qualifies as a "good sequel."

Why is speed so important?
HinataChan30 3 years ago
Cuz you can kick the other person's ass faster. =D
And if your reflexes can't match the speed, you'll lose of course =D
NitroTitan 3 years ago 5
Well I for one don't MANDATE fast gameplay. I'm fine with it being moderately fast.
HinataChan30 3 years ago
No dipshit, people take issue with the speed because the arcade speed has been the tournament standard for the last 14 years.
Seriously how hard can it possibly be to make it sync up properly?

I dont know about you guys...
but theres something called online lag...
and if you add speed...
well enough said.
even though i would still perfer this speed
anyways, would seem more fun.
NoName7467 3 years ago
There is actually a pretty big difference between animation speed and input lag. They're entirely different things.

Man I usually practice on Turbo 4 and I can barely get Vega/Dictator's tough 4/5 hit combos done 60% of the time on that speed.

So what does this really mean? If you remember when Street Fighter 2 Turbo came out everyone was playing on the highest speed setting.
Maybe you will be able to adjust the speed in the actual version that comes out. Well since it's still in beta go tell Capcom.

there is parallax scrolling in the background, its just not as intense as the original. It's much more noticeable when moving side to side

nice job, hope that and the massive about scrolling of the screen up and down get attention.
